The joy of the Lord is my strength. Nehemiah 8:10 Teach with joy and they will be joyful.

I don’t know what I was thinking about this crazy snack time. They made a huge mess out of it.

It definitely feels like a weird sort of day, a little bit movies and pajamas, some coloring, gluing and writing k’s. The hardest part is, obviously saying goodbye, since it’s our last day. Also cupcakes, and I normally don’t do cupcakes at lunch but it was just a little one. I’m also giving them some stickers, some candy, and maybe even some toys to take home.

The happy face snowman trifle I have attempted to make, so we will see how that goes. It has several steps, a little complicated if you ask me. But maybe they’ll like it. We’ll see. It needed a little more refrigeration or I might would have gave them some with lunch but we’ll try it later instead. Also something weird is going on with my camera focus. It’s like it’s zooming in too much or something. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I decided maybe just maybe Wesley won’t eat the crayons. So let’s give it a go and see what happens.

Millie did numbers 8-9 and working on those cutting skills some more with an oval fish. Wesley coloring and gluing a puppy face that is square shaped. The weather is nice today too, so we went outside.

When Jesus was only a few days old, Joseph and Mary took him to the temple for the first time. It was there that Simeon and Anna met him. Simeon had been told by the Holy Spirit that he would not die until after he had met the Messiah. Anna, too had been told she would also meet him, even in her old age. And that is exactly what happened.

My baking through the Bible at Christmas book had a recipe for a snowman trifle, with a happy face to represent how happy they were to meet him. We might make this, but it does require refrigeration for 6 hours before eating, I hmm we’ll see. But, how about a snowman craft?

Over and under

Ok I did something crazy and broke out the laminator much to their amazement. I’ve never done that before but anyway this little angel is ready to be on the tree.

I laminated and hole punched the angels last night and added string. Now you can add it to your tree. I didn’t have any more patterns printed out for Wesley but decided just to trace around one of the others and made one that way. Now he can have one too but his isn’t laminated yet.

Creed and Rocky worked on writing the number 2, understanding position words and writing the letter K.

I read the story about how the shepherds went to find the baby Jesus and also the wise men. They brought him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

“It is with thoughtful consideration I have chosen to close down Joyful Learning Childcare. Our last day will be Friday. I will make sure our last day is a lot of fun for the kids. I couldn’t be more thankful for all the clients that have passed through these doors over the last 3 1/2 years. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me, believed in me and even shared posts. All good things do come to an end, eventually.

I have been offered a job opportunity that I cannot pass up, as this will be the best thing for our household.

With love -Toni”

Our next state is Alaska. It’s very cold there, much colder than Mississippi. It’s also where the North Pole is, which is mostly known for Santa Claus. But did you know that it’s very common to leave Christmas decorations up year round at the North Pole?

Anyway, we made Santa crafts. I really should have printed the directions out though. I think the red circles are supposed to be his nose, not red cheeks. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s ok. I’ll fix it, shortly. Also my printer is going crazy and nothing is printing right.

We’ve got chill weekend vibes going on over here. Just hanging out and relaxing kind of day. Thanks to Millie’s dad for the Slim Jim beef jerky snacks. Maybe that will go ok with our Snowman cookies this afternoon. ⛄️
