This is a respectful and loving appeal to my neighbors considering voting for Trump: I humbly ask that you read this, especially if in your mind this election is about perceived fiscal ideologies. I implore you to look beyond what you perceive to be your most immediate need. Trump cares only about himself, not you. Trump spews hate. Trump has and will continue to put in place judges and sign laws that may not immediately affect you directly but greatly limit the rights of your neighbors and generations to come. I know you care about these people. Please know that this has and will continue to profoundly impact our daily lives. I can agree that we need to be more fiscally responsible and we can respectfully disagree on how to get there, but I implore you to put your neighbors' basic human rights ahead of your perceived immediate need. Send the message to the Republican Party that you will NOT vote for them UNTIL they change their social policies, I promise you that allowing people to be who they want to be, love who they want to love, and live how they want to live will NOT affect you and NOT limit your rights to be who YOU want to be and worship how you want to worship. We don't want to take away your guns or your rights. Christianity and your right to worship is NOT under attack. We can believe different things and apply those beliefs to our lives without those beliefs impacting our neighbor. PLEASE THINK OF YOUR NEIGHBORS because I guarantee, even if you didn't see it, the first Trump term had a severe and lasting negative impact on them and that will continue to impact them for decades to come. Another Trump term will have exponentially negative affects. If the N***s think this is the candidate for them, you really need to think about why that is, who you're voting for, what your vote for him represents, and how that will change our country for the worse. Thank you for putting your neighbors first and know that if your rights were under attack, we would be there to support you! Thank you for reading this and thank you for considering your neighbor who you may not see eye-to-eye with, but whose rights are just as important as your rights.

On this day in 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court delivered its unanimous school desegregation ruling in Brown vs. Board of Education. Instrumental to the outcome was research by CCNY Professor Kenneth B. Clark and his wife, Dr. Mamie Clark, that demonstrated the harmful effects of racism and segregation on Black children.
Professor Clark taught in the CCNY Psychology Department for more than 30 years, until his retirement in 1975. Today, his legacy lives on at CCNY through the Kenneth B. Clark Award, given annually to a student in the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership to help further the understanding of psychology and race in America.
