Raising awareness and funds for communication boards!

04/02/2026

Hello Everyone,

The Communication Board has officially been delivered! 🙌

First, Happy Autism Awareness & Acceptance Day! This day holds so much meaning for so many families and individuals. It represents recognition, understanding, and acceptance for a community that is incredibly close to our heart.

We’re beyond excited to share that Coco’s school has received the communication board and it is now in their hands! This is such a powerful step toward creating a more inclusive environment for all students.

We’ll be planning an unveiling soon, and we would love for anyone who contributed or is interested to come out and see the impact you helped make. If you’re unable to attend, don’t worry—we’ll be sharing plenty of pictures and updates!

More details to come soon. Thank you all again for your incredible support 🙏🏼

January Update: Bringing Communication Boards to Life

We are thrilled to share that this month is all about the final details! Our team is hard at work finalizing the design and layout of our Preferred Communication Boards for various key locations, including playgrounds and cafeterias.

To ensure these boards are as effective as possible, we are taking a two-pronged approach:
• Bulk Ordering: For standard symbols and universal messaging used across all locations.
• Customized Layouts: Tailoring specific boards to meet the unique needs of the environment where they will be installed (e.g., specific playground equipment or cafeteria routines).

None of this would be possible without your support. We have a dedicated team managing every moving part of this process, and we are energized to take these next steps thanks to the generous donations from you and our entire community!

We look forward to sharing more photos and milestones as these boards head to production.

Thank you,
Coco’s Advocate

Donate to Help Downey Elementary Build Inclusion, organized by Christopher Curran 12/31/2025

Hi Everybody! What started as a goal to fund a communication board for Downey Elementary has grown into a citywide mission. Thanks to an incredible response from our community, we’re now working to bring communication boards to schools across Brockton that are in need.

Our son, Coco, is autistic and minimally speaking. Like many students, he faces challenges communicating during recess and playtime. Communication boards give nonverbal and special needs students a visual way to express themselves, helping make classrooms and playgrounds more inclusive for everyone.

With many schools facing funding limitations, we’re raising funds throughout 2026 to purchase communication boards for both indoor spaces and playgrounds. Our hope is to unveil boards during Autism Awareness Month in April and continue installations as funds allow.

Your support helps give children across Brockton a voice — and creates school environments where every child can feel included, understood, and able to thrive.
