Today wasn’t about diving straight back into standards or schedules.

It was about celebrating being together again.
New Year’s crowns.
A classroom ball drop.
Laughter and fresh starts.

Joy matters.
Belonging matters.

And when kids feel safe and celebrated — learning follows. 🍋

Here’s to a year full of confidence, connection, and joy.

Winter break may be over… but joy doesn’t have to be.
I’ll be honest — seeing 27° this morning made me want to crawl back under the covers.
But I remembered how much joy I found over break in slowing down, baking, and trying something new… and I carried a little of that into today.
Here’s your reminder — for teachers and parents alike — that joy lives in small moments.
A warm coffee.
A deep breath.
A fresh start. 🍋
Let’s make space for joy this year.

POV: You let kids draw self-portraits…
…as the Grinch 💚

No rubric.
No perfect lines.
Just confidence, creativity, and kids being kids.

And suddenly… school feels magical again ✨

We loved these Grinch self portraits from Happily Ever Elementary Page that our sweet cowoker shared with us, and it’s such a good reminder that when teachers share ideas, classrooms win.

đź’š Re-humanizing education, one joyful moment at a time

12/11/2025

This week has been a lot.

Benchmarks, make-up tests, deadlines, the December rush… all of it.

So in between the chaos, we’ve been making room for moments that feel warm, creative, and calm — the kind kids actually remember years from now.

Because yes, we test.
But we also make ornaments.
We slow down.
We create.
We laugh.
We protect their wonder on purpose.

And honestly?

That’s the part that matters most. ✨🍋

12/01/2025

Maybe the secret to calmer days isn’t doing more…
Maybe it’s slowing down on purpose. 🍋💛

In our classroom we start and end every day with cozy, focused reading time.

Soft lighting. Calm music. Everyone curled up with a book.

No rush. No pressure. Just… peace.

Kids don’t need perfection.
They need rhythm.
They need safety.
They need joyful routines that help them exhale.

Slow, cozy mornings > rushed ones.

Every time.

If you want more joyful December ideas, my Joyful December Kit drops THIS WEEK. ✨
Drop a 🎄 for details!

Monday we go back.
Back to the routines, the noise, the to-dos, the tests, the rush.
But we don’t have to go back to the pressure.
We can choose something different. 💛✨

December can be chaotic…
OR it can be magical.
The difference isn’t in the lesson plans —
it’s in the moments.
✨ a kid’s eyes lighting up during a read-aloud
✨ a silly brain break that turns the whole class mood around
✨ creating something with their hands instead of another worksheet
✨ whispering “I believe in you” to a child who needed that exact sentence
✨ watching your students show kindness because they’ve learned it from you

December doesn’t need more rigor.
It needs more wonder.
More connection.
More joy.

So if you’re heading back Monday feeling overwhelmed…

Here’s your reminder:
🍋 You don’t have to make it perfect.
You just have to make it joyful.
One tiny moment at a time.

Kids won’t remember the data.
They will remember the way your classroom felt.

Let’s make December feel like magic again — for them and for us. ✨💛

Drop a 🍋 if you’re choosing JOY over stress this month.

And share this with a teacher or parent who needs this reminder.

This week, I hope you find a moment of joy with your child — or with your students — that has nothing to do with tests, data, or performance.

The kind of joy that sneaks up on you.
The kind that reminds you why you show up every day.
The kind that no score can measure.

Maybe it’s…
✨ A belly laugh during a read-aloud.
✨ A kid showing you something they created with pure pride.
✨ A messy moment turning into a memory.
✨ A quiet “I’m proud of myself” whispered after trying something hard.
✨ A spark of curiosity that lights up their whole face.

We lose these moments when everything becomes urgent.

But the joy?
The joy is still there.
It’s just waiting to be noticed.

As we move into Thanksgiving week, I’m reminding myself — and you — to slow down just enough to see the wonder again.
To protect it.
To choose it on purpose.

Kids don’t need perfect adults.
They need present ones.
Ones who notice.
Ones who delight.

Ones who believe that learning is supposed to feel like something.
Something good.
Something human.
Something joyful.

So here’s your Sunday night reminder, sweet teacher + parent:

🍋 Find one tiny moment of joy this week.
Hold onto it.
Let it soften the hard parts.
Let it guide you back to what matters most.

If you’re choosing joy on purpose — even when the world gets loud — you’re my people. 💛

Kids deserve more joy and less pressure.
Teachers and parents deserve a system that actually listens.

Until then… we do what we CAN. 💛🍋

🎄🍋 f I could wrap up one gift for every child this Christmas…
it wouldn’t be a toy.
It wouldn’t be something flashy or expensive.
It would be literacy.

The kind that feels warm and magical.
The kind that happens in cozy corners with cocoa and twinkle lights.
The kind that grows confidence, imagination, vocabulary, and JOY.

Books are more than stories —
they are memories.
They are moments.
They are tiny gifts that last far beyond the season.

This year, I’m dreaming of a Christmas where:
📚 kids fall in love with reading
🎨 creativity feels irresistible
✨ learning feels magical again
đź’› childhood slows down

And I’m building something that brings all of this together.
Something simple.
Something meaningful.
Something your kids will feel.

If you believe the best gift we can give our kids is a love for reading,
comment 📚 so I know you’re with me. 💛🍋

🎄✨
What if Christmas wasn’t about more toys…
but about more moments?
More slow-down time.
More creativity.
More connection.
More childhood.

Lately I’ve been thinking so much about how kids are rushed, overstimulated, tested, and pushed…
and how badly they need magic, not more pressure.

So this year, I’m creating something special — something that brings back the wonder, the slowness, the coziness…
something that gives families a chance to just be together. 🎄💛

A Christmas story.
An art project.
Warm cocoa.
Shared laughter.
Joy.

Holiday magic — delivered simply.

Coming soon from Little Lemons Learning. 🍋✨
If we want kids to fall in love with reading, creating, imagining…
we have to give them moments worth remembering.
