The biggest mistake with an ingrown toenail can cost you your nail plate FOREVER.

In 90% of cases, when an ingrown toenail starts hurting, people reach for scissors, nail files, or needles. They cut, dig, and try to “fix” the problem themselves. In reality, this only causes more trauma and makes the condition even worse.

The result? The toe becomes swollen, the pain becomes unbearable, and many people end up seeing a surgeon. In some cases, the nail is removed. If the nail matrix is damaged, a smooth, healthy nail may never grow back.

In most cases, the right first step is to see an Advanced Pedicure Specialist—not a surgeon.

The goal isn’t to remove the nail. It’s to gently correct the way it grows, relieve the pressure, eliminate the cause of the pain, and give the nail the best chance to heal and grow back naturally.

Please don’t try to treat an ingrown toenail yourself. The sooner you see a qualified specialist, the easier it is to save your nail and avoid unnecessary complications.

If you’re dealing with an ingrown toenail or any other nail problem, send me a DM. I’ll provide an online consultation, help you understand the best next steps, and, if needed, schedule you for an appointment.

Well, on the 3rd, all of the entries for the San Francisco Online Championship were finally judged.

Now I’m excited to see who the winners will be! ✨

As always, I judged every single entry in one sitting, even though judges are given three full days to complete the process.

The truth is, once I start, I simply can’t stop. I want to see every participant’s work, evaluate each one, and finish as soon as possible.

Judging always puts me in a very special state of mind. This time was no different. I finished at 3:00 a.m., and only then, with complete peace of mind, I finally went to bed.

⚠️ ATTENTION ⚠️

If something is bothering you — don’t wait, don’t ignore it, and don’t hope it will “go away on its own.”
The earlier you see a specialist, the easier it is to prevent serious problems.

Take a look at this case — this was the FIRST stage of a real fungal infection.

We treated it early:
✔️ Deep cleaning and removal of the infected area
✔️ Worked only with professional podology products
✔️ Used special antifungal materials
✔️ Performed nail prosthetics for the open-shoe season
✔️ Gave detailed home care recommendations
✔️ Created a monthly treatment and maintenance plan

Result:
✅ No pain
✅ No severe complications
✅ No unnecessary expenses (the earlier you treat it — the less expensive it is)

Please don’t wait until it gets worse.

If you notice:
• discoloration
• thickening
• odor
• lifting
• discomfort or pressure

— book an appointment as soon as possible.

Your Nail Fell Off? Here’s Why.

You removed your gel or acrylic, and now your nail is attached only at the base—or has partially lifted from the nail bed?

You’re not alone.

This condition is called onycholysis — when the nail separates from the nail bed.

Don’t panic. The problem can be treated.

But let’s be honest: no “magic” gel, acrylic, or overlay will fix it.

The goal is to treat the problem, not cover it up.

Common Causes:

• Trauma (injury, pressure, tight shoes)
• Fungal infection
• Allergic reaction to nail products
• Chemicals without proper protection
• Systemic conditions (psoriasis, diabetes, thyroid disorders)
• Certain medications
• Aggressive manicure or pedicure procedures

How Do I Find the Cause?

I evaluate the nail’s appearance, structure, and history.

If necessary, I perform fungal testing, examine other nails, and refer the client to a physician for further evaluation.

I don’t hide problems under acrylic.

My Treatment Process:

✅ Step 1: Thorough assessment and honest consultation

✅ Step 2: Professional cleaning — removing detached nail portions, cleaning the nail bed, and antiseptic treatment

✅ Step 3: Nail prosthetics (a temporary artificial nail that protects the area and supports healthy growth)

✅ Step 4: Personalized home-care recommendations

✅ Step 5: Follow-up appointments every 2–4 weeks

✅ Step 6: Healthy nail growth over the next 3–6 months

Then—and only then—we can talk about cosmetic enhancements and beautiful nail designs.

I work with science, experience, and proven protocols—not magic.

Acrylic Masks the Problem — It Doesn’t Solve It

A client came to me with a complaint: “Something is wrong with my nail.”

Instead of addressing the real issue, the previous nail technician simply covered everything with acrylic.

Was it pretty? Yes.
Was it fast? Of course.
Did it solve the problem? No.

It only masked it.

Under the acrylic, the perfect environment was created for moisture, debris, and bacteria to accumulate. Everything stayed trapped under that beautiful “armor.”

The client couldn’t see what was happening underneath because the nail looked beautiful on the surface.

One month. Two months. Three months…

When we finally removed the acrylic, the condition had worsened significantly. The damaged area had grown, a fungal infection had developed, and there was an unpleasant odor.

Why does this happen?

Because many clients ask for something “beautiful and quick,” and some technicians are afraid of losing the service or admitting that the client needs proper treatment.

It’s easier to hide the problem than to honestly say:

“Stop. This nail needs treatment. It should not be covered.”

My client is already scheduled for her next appointment.

We are solving the problem — not hiding it under acrylic.

If you want to learn how to solve nail problems instead of masking them, join my training programs. I teach real podology-based solutions and practical treatment protocols used in everyday salon and podology practice.
