Let’s talk — and of course share — all about CMCA Early Head Start Homebase in Audrain County! 💙

We are always accepting applications for our programs:
✨ Prenatal through age 3 for Early Head Start Homebase
✨ Birth to age 5 for the Williams Center in Mexico
✨ Ages 3–5 for Head Start at Community R-VI

You can visit CMCA.us to learn more about all the amazing things we do as an agency and explore the many services available to families in our community.

But today, I want to show off some of these adorable Homebase cuties who are working hard right alongside their parents! They are exploring, learning, reaching developmental goals, building connections, and most importantly — having fun while doing it! 🥰

What an incredible Home Base and Head Start journey this family has had! 💙

While Onyx was only recently enrolled in the Audrain Home Base program, his family has been part of our program for many years. Big sister Aubree, now 8 years old, participated in Early Head Start Home Base before continuing on to Head Start at Community R-VI. Little sister is now finishing her third year in Head Start at Community R-VI after beginning her journey in Home Base while her momma was still pregnant with her. 🩷🩷🩵

Even before Onyx officially joined the program, his momma stayed connected while pregnant and on the waiting list by participating in our monthly Learning Baby Showers. Each month, she logged onto Google Meet to learn about important prenatal and newborn topics, connect with support, and earn essential baby items to help prepare for Onyx’s arrival.

At Audrain Home Base, we believe support starts long before baby arrives and continues as families grow. In addition to our learning opportunities, we also offer a crib program and car seat program to help ensure families have safe sleep spaces and important resources for their little ones.

We love walking alongside families through every stage — from pregnancy, to infancy, and all the way into preschool and beyond. Watching children grow and families thrive is what makes this work so special! 💛

From color sorting and exploring glue to playing with beads and reading together as a family, every moment is an opportunity to learn and grow. How amazing is the Audrain Home Base program for creating meaningful experiences that support both learning and connection! 🎨🧸🖌🖍✂️
Early learning plays such an important role in a child’s development by building skills through hands-on exploration, creativity, and everyday interactions. Exploring art materials helps children strengthen fine motor skills, problem-solving, and self-expression, while activities like sorting, sensory play, and reading encourage curiosity and early learning concepts. Most importantly, these moments create valuable opportunities for families to bond, learn together, and make lasting memories. We love seeing families grow, play, and learn side by side through the Audrain Home Base program!🤰🤱👨‍🍼👨‍👩‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👣

Arthur Center is excited to host a FREE student wellness event for our community on Saturday, May 30 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. This event is open to all surrounding students ages 6 and older.

Services include:
Sports Physicals
Well-Child Visits
Immunizations
Dental Exams

Even though this school year is wrapping up, now is the perfect time to start preparing for the next year. Sports physicals are valid for two years and must be completed before the fall season begins in order to participate.

This event is just one more way Arthur Center is removing barriers to care and supporting the health and success of students in our community.

Come meet our team, tour our facility, and take advantage of these no-cost services for your child!

Here are some more fun ways to get outside and enjoy nature!
There may not be many flowers out yet, but there’s always plenty to explore—grass, leaves, bark, rocks, and so much more.
Enjoy some fresh air and have a fun day outside before the rain!

Why stay inside when you can get out and explore this morning?
A simple walk around the block, digging in the dirt, visiting a park, or even wandering around your own yard opens up a whole world—grass, leaves, trees, bugs, and the sounds of birds can spark so much learning and joy.
A quick reminder: we are always keeping an active waiting list for Homebase, the Williams Center in Mexico, and Community R-VI in Laddonia.
