๐ถ Attention Breckenridge Band Families! (Grades 8-12) ๐ถ
Following up on our spring emails, here is the official schedule for our 2026 Marching Band Camp! This year is incredibly exciting because our 8th graders are officially joining the high school marching band. Welcome to the team! ๐บ๐ฅ
(Note: If your student is not taking band next year, you can just ignore this post!)
๐ WHEN: August 3rd โ 7th
โฐ TIME: 8:00 AM โ 5:00 PM every day
๐ WHERE: The High School
Here is what you need to know:
๐น Rookie Monday: Monday morning is ONLY for "Rookies" (anyone who has never marched before, including all incoming 8th graders). Returning members will arrive after lunch on Monday. (Veteran members wanting to build leadership skills are very welcome to come in the morning to help guide our new marchers!)
๐น Attendance: We learn an entire semesterโs worth of material in one week, so students are expected to attend. However, we know "life happens." If your student has a conflict, joining us for even a day or two is still very helpful. Just let me know about any schedule conflicts as soon as you can.
๐ What to Bring:
Marching band is an outdoor sport! Please make sure your student is ready for the heat and the cardio:
๐ง WATER: Bring a large, insulated water jug. Start drinking plenty of water the day before!
๐ฅช LUNCH: Pack a healthy, filling lunch to keep your energy up.
๐ ATHLETIC GEAR: Wear light-colored, breathable clothes and good sneakers. (NO sandals, Crocs, or bare feet!)
โ๏ธ SUN PROTECTION: Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
๐ท INSTRUMENT: Bring your instrument and any supplies you need (reeds, valve oil, etc.).
๐ GREAT ATTITUDE: Come ready to work hard, learn a lot, and have fun!
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and I can't wait to get to work with the students in August! If you have any questions, feel free to send an email.
Musically yours,
Mr. Molands
