It was an incredible privilege to be with the night!
There is a sweet spirit present when believers are united.
Ephesians 4:
"11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

Created & Called: Finding your purpose admits the chaos

I was reminded this week of the power of community. It's important to push aside our tendencies to be alone and meet together.
The darkest work in our life can be done through isolation, but friend can point out the light and leave us less burdened.
Hebrews 10:25
"not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
As leaders its important to allow trusted people around you and to plant in community.

This was an ad from 1920. It still baffles me that less than 100 years ago women couldn't vote.
In a lot of countries this is still a reality.
Let us not take our rights lightly and be forever thankful for all those who went before us and did hard things.
Next meeting April 4th. Registration open now.

Speaker: Blake Woolsey
Topic: Navigating the waters of Women in Leadership.
Blake is joining us from Northwest Arkansas where she lives with her husband and 3 sons. Blake has a wide background of experience and has an intriguing message to share with us. She is a business woman and a community leader, but also enjoys the traditional joys of running a home and raising a family. How do we embrace both worlds? Blake will give us some insight to chew on.

If you are looking to make 2016 a year that you live healthier, I challenge you to make sure your motivation is clear.
Any program or product that uses pictures of shirtless people to promote their cause is tapping into your desire to be accepted for your looks. Good health should not be for the sake of looks but rather for the sake of well-being to better love and serve God and people.
I get that someone might glorify God for their visible change, but consider these two scenarios:
1. "God, please give me the discipline to lose weight and get in shape." Glory is given to God for my progress.
2. "God, help me get to a place of wellness to better love and serve you and other people." This removes my physical appearance as the focal point of what God is doing.
There is freedom in being removed as the display of what God is doing.
The musician tunes her instrument so that she can produce sweeter music for the pleasure of those nearby, with little-to-no attention given to the instrument. May God "tune" you so that He can use you to produce fruit that benefits others for His glory.
