Official Judge Biography

​Taylor Lee Chambers is a powerhouse of performance and professional expertise, with a career that beautifully bridges the worlds of agricultural heritage, high-end aesthetics, and the performing arts. A 1999 graduate of Lyman Hall High School with a specialty in Large Animal, equine Science, Taylor continued her education at the University of Connecticut, focusing on pre veterinary sciences with a focus on reproductive physiology, genetics and a minor in food science.
​Her journey in the spotlight began in 1986 at the age of six, leading to decades of formal training. Taylor is vastly educated in musical theater and multiple genres of vocal performance, complemented by years of discipline in diverse styles of dance. Her athletic precision and stage presence were further honed as a competitive cheerleader and coach, giving her a unique, technical eye for choreography and showmanship.
​Today, Taylor remains a vibrant force in the media industry, currently filming commercials and appearing in active print work for high-profile magazines. A Licensed Cosmetology Educator and a Who’s Who in America Hall of Fame inductee for her contributions to agriculture, Taylor’s professional versatility is unmatched. She has served as a hair and makeup artist for TV and commercials, a professional wedding dress model, and currently serves as the CT FFA Alumni Association reporter and the Lyman Hall FFA Alumni President.
​Taylor’s commitment to service is reflected in her work as a University of Connecticut 4-H Leader at her business, Fox Field Farm, LLC, and her history with the Connecticut USO troop, The Liberty Misses. A former Miss America Pageant judge who also trains service animals for veterans and humand in need, Taylor brings 40 years of "farm-to-fashion" wisdom and stage-tested authority to the Miss U.S of America judging panel.

Hello from a New Member of Your Education Team!

​Dear Students,
​As you continue your journey here at the Branford Academy of Hair and Cosmetology, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as I join the academy’s incredible team of educators. You will see me stepping in across both the Branford and Bridgeport campuses, bringing extra support, fresh perspective, and an adaptable helping hand wherever it's needed most.
​Because I will be filling in across all developmental stages of the curriculum, my goal is to seamlessly meet you exactly where you are today—whether you are just mastering the fundamentals or perfecting your advanced, floor-ready techniques. I know how much hard work and focus you have already poured into your education, and I am here to fuel that momentum and help you elevate your craft.
​To give you a little background on the person joining you at the chair: I am a licensed cosmetologist and educator with deep roots in the beauty, modeling, and performance industries. Alongside my work in beauty, I am also an agricultural education science teacher. My background includes a heavy focus on animal sciences, and I love teaching humans how these two seemingly different industries actually collide.
​Most people don't think of a traditional hairdresser as a scientist, but the reality is that the products we use every single day—from our shampoos and conditioners to face lotions and right down to our toothpaste—exist because of laboratory animal sciences. In our time together, we will pull back the curtain on product labels. We’ll explore what terms like "cruelty-free" or "not tested on animals" actually mean from a scientific and regulatory standpoint. This unique crossover between veterinary sciences and cosmetology will give you a deeper, more sophisticated understanding of cosmetic chemistry and product integrity, allowing you to speak to your future clients as true industry experts.
​I share these milestones and my varied background not to highlight where I have been, but to show you just how far your license can take you. The beauty industry is truly limitless, and it can open doors you haven’t even imagined yet.
​My philosophy as an educator is rooted in holistic, multi-modality training. I don't just care about the mechanics of a perfect cut or application; I care about your confidence, your mental well-being, and your unique growth as an individual artist. Every single one of you brings a distinct strength and vision to the floor. Your success is my personal mission, and whether I am working with you for a day, a week, or a specific module, I am fully committed to helping you build the future you dream of.
