We will meet in room B on the second floor. All are welcome to join! The ELPAC is a group of parents and caregivers who partner with the school district and provide important advice and input on the English learner education (ELE) program and learning opportunities for English learners. Reminder - FREE Adult English Classes

Hello Families,

I am sending a reminder about Braintree Public Schools' FREE adult English classes for our BPS families. All English levels are welcome! I'm excited about the many families who have already signed up! We have some spaces left and there is still time to register. Please note that registration will close on Friday, February 13. A confirmation email will be sent to all participants next week.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS FOR THE CLASSES:
LOCATION: New South Middle School, 220 Peach Street, Braintree
SCHEDULE: Every Tuesday and Thursday, February 24 - April 16
TIME: 6:00pm - 7:30pm
**First Class will be Tuesday, February 24 at 6:00pm at New South Middle School

Parking is available near the main entrance of the school. Classes will be in the Media Center. Enter the main door and the Media Center will be in front of you on the right (across from the cafeteria). We are looking forward to our time together!

Hello Families,

Parent Teacher Conferences will take place in November. Each school's conference schedule is listed at the end of this message. Classroom teachers will be sending Parent Square messages to all families with information about how you can sign up. These messages will be sent in the next few days. You will be able to select a date and time when you can meet with your child's teachers to talk about their progress and educational goals. You have the right to an interpreter. Virtual interpreters will be available if you request one.

Parent conferences are an important opportunity to meet your child's teachers, share information about your child, learn how your child is doing in school and how your child is being supported. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions. If you are available to attend a conference, I encourage you to attend! If you cannot attend a conference, you have the right to contact your child's teacher at any time and request a meeting.

Here are some questions that you may find helpful to ask at conferences:

1. What are my child's areas of strength?
2. Where does my child need help? What is being done to support my child?
2. Does my child complete assignments on time?
3. Does my child participate in class?
4. Does my child seem happy at school?
5. What can I do at home to help? (Remember to keep speaking your home language with your child and encourage your child to read in your home language! Being multilingual is a strength that benefits your child's future success!)
6. Ask your child's teacher to explain anything you do not understand.
