My heart is going to explode with how beautiful the foliage is on the South Shore this week. Grab your pumpkin spice lattes and your favorite ghouls and goblins and come smell some candles and hunt for some amazing vintage on Saturday in Milton at Hutchinson Field. Sunday I’ll be in Hanover Crossing, at the final Hanover farmers market of the season. I’ll have this candle with smells like a delicious pumpkin spice desert as well as the rest of the fall collection, enchanted oddities, the crystal candles and incense and I have a few Halloween candles left until the sell out.

This same concept would apply when reasoning notes for perfumes too. This is why sometimes when you smell a non lit candle more notes come out once it’s lit or when you spray a perfume it might not be your favorite but a few hours later it smells perfect! Have any of my scents surprised you once you started burning them?

Swipe to see the mood board for this scent. Crisp and bright this an autumn scent that can really be burned year round. It opens with ripe pear, followed by a hint of brandy and an undertone of the oak barrel. It’s a very fruit forward scent and I always recommend to people who are looking for a clean crisp candle.

Also, can we just take a moment for the new camera! 📸 it’s made photography so much less daunting of a task and I love how all the fall photos came out.

Have you tried aged brandy & pear? 🍐 It’s such a nice alternative to apple and pumpkin notes if you want something a little more unique

I’ve been working on upgrading a few of my products for the last several months and the linen sprays are ready to share!
The scents will all remain the same but I’ve made some changes to the formula. The new formula packs a bit more of a punch and has more longevity on your linens so you can get more out of your bottle. I’ll be sharing a little more on this via email this week (sign up on the website if you haven’t)

Scent is completely subjective so I might be alone in this but it’s why I find scent notes so tough go by alone when choosing a fragrance. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve ordered a perfume online thinking it was going to smell like sandalwood and spices and instead smells like a department store when they shower you with samples of polo as you run through 🤣. I may be aging myself a little here with that reference. It’s the main reason I spend so much time world building around my scents and really trying to describe how they will make you feel when you smell them. But I can’t be the only one who’s experienced this?

Inspired by my love for southern gothic literature and landscapes. The idea for Nocturnal Fruit came to me on fall while doing my annual rewatch of True Blood. Something about southern vampires tales always suck me in. With this scent I really wanted to convey the smell of damp soil, moss hanging from the trees, the scent of a the mist that hangs around when it rains and the earth is really warm, and a hint of ripe peach. Haunting and strange but with a beautiful dark edge. I immediately put pen to paper and wrote the poem you now see on the label. I know the combination of scent notes sounds a little unconventional but they work so beautifully together if you love earthy scents the peach just adds a surprising twist and really brings it to life.

I’ve loved storytelling for as long as I can remember. Writing stories, poetry, getting completely lost in fictional worlds—it’s always been part of who I am.

And somewhere along the way, I realized it was also the best way I knew how to describe scent.

Because “top, middle + base notes” can tell you what’s in a fragrance, but it doesn’t always tell you what it feels like.

Instead l, I try to tell you where a scent belongs. The world it lives in. The weather, the room you’re standing in, the story coming to life around you. Because if you can’t smell a candle through a screen, maybe I can make you imagine it
