Fretz Lady Owls Open Season With Dominant 7-1 Victory

The Fretz Lady Owls opened their season in impressive fashion Saturday, rolling past the Port Allegany Gators 7-1 to start the season 1-0.

Gwen Neighbour led the offensive attack with an outstanding four goals and one assist, accounting for more than half of Fretz’s seven goals.
Sadie Gilligan added one goal and one assist, while Maisy Gorrell contributed one goal and one assist. Ellie Spehar rounded out the scoring with one goal and one assist.
The Lady Owls also received valuable contributions off the bench. Khole Armstrong and Isabella Lowe played big roles, bringing energy, effort and quality minutes that helped the team maintain its momentum throughout the match.
In goal, Akacia Dynda was outstanding, making 14 saves to help limit Port Allegany to just one goal.
It was a complete team effort from the Lady Owls. Strong offensive production, a determined defensive effort and important contributions from the bench helped Fretz secure a convincing victory in its season opener.

Looking Ahead
The Lady Owls, now 1-0 on the season, will look to keep the momentum going when they face St. Marys next Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
