VOLUNTEER TO SHOW YOUR CANE PRIDE:

The Marching Canes Band needs volunteers on Saturday, October 24, when Manatee High School will host the Marching Band Music Performance Assessment for schools across Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte counties. More than 1,500 band students and thousands of spectators will visit our campus throughout the day. In past years, this event has raised more than $15,000 to support our marching, jazz, and concert bands by covering equipment purchases and repairs, guest instructors, new music, registration fees, transportation, and other program expenses.

More information is available on the MHS Marching Canes Alumni FB page.

We regret to notify you that one of our oldest living graduates passed away. Dorothy Rebecca "Becky" Lee McGuffey graduated from Bradenton High School in the Class of 1939. She was born on 1/11/1922 and passed away on 10/3/2026, just a short time before her 105th birthday.

Becky graduated on June 9, 1939, in a class of 142 students, and now the only living 1939 classmate is Betty Jean Swofford Evans, our oldest living graduate at 105. Ironically, Betty Jean and another classmate wrote the Class History, and we're sure she wasn't thinking at the time that she would be the last remaining member of the class.

Our sincere condolences to Becky's family and friends.

We'll be at the game tomorrow night. Will you be at Hawkins Stadium by 7:30 PM to support the Canes?

It's the last home game of the season, and we still have plenty of memorabilia to sell! Stop by our table and see what we might have that you want.
