Kinship Caregivers Support offers education and access to resources to the 6,600 Montana kinship caregivers raising children without parental involvement.
The Montana Kinship Navigator Program is a part of Montana State University Extension, Family & Human Development. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Montana State University and the Montana State University Extension Service prohibit discrimination in all of their programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, and marital and family status.

I've lost count of the number of times I've used this clip in parent/caregiver trainings - and I'll continue to use it until something more effective comes along...because watching full-grown adults realize how empathy can support better communication with the children they care for? Immeasurable worth

Caregiver Education is back! Program Managers Heidi Lester (MT) and Chandra Ortiz (WY) will be presenting Trauma Related Behaviors on Tuesday, September 20th from 7pm-8:pm. Through this online class you will learn how chaos, threat, neglect, and other adversity during development can alter the developing brain and that, in turn, can change the ways children think, feel, and act – and how you may be able to support families and children.
