HERE & NOW: A COMMUNITY STUDY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA: Designed to build community-mindedness and an awareness of the inter-connected nature of human relationships, this fully integrated curriculum explores the process of investigation, involves community partnerships, engages students in the world around them, and will culminate in the construction of a model community that will showcase an understanding of how and why people come together to support each other.
ACT LOCALLY! ACTIVISM, COMMUNITY, COMPASSION & KINDNESS: This workshop is designed to help students engage in the world around them and deepen their understanding and ability to positively impact their community. Each four-week long workshop will focus on a different nonprofit here in the Gallatin Valley and will offer students an opportunity to build investigatory skills as well as be active participants in social action projects.
PUPPETS, POETS & STORIES: Playful, joyful literacy explorations! Students will develop their storytelling, illustration, and writing skills (if developmentally appropriate) by making a playing with different kinds of puppets.
TRADITIONAL ARTS: In a fast-paced, technology-fueled world, traditional skills, arts, and crafts grow evermore precious. Through this ongoing workshop, students will be introduced to a variety of traditional arts and crafts skills including woodworking, weaving, felting, sewing, baking, knitting, candle-making, and more! Each session will build upon the last and leave students with lasting skills that help them represent their understanding of, relationship with, and connection to, the world and our history.
INTO THE WOODS: A place-based, artistic journey through the natural world as it is presented by the open spaces, farms, and trails in and around Bozeman.
BLOCKS! BLOCKS! BLOCKS!: Mathematics, social skills, engineering, communication, language, dramatic play, physics, and fun! Unit blocks are among the most researched and most revered play-based classroom material and have been proven to support social-emotional, physical and cognitive development. These versatile learning tools are as magical as they are fun!
