Service Learning & Impact in Community Engagement has been helping #CUBoulder students get involved through volunteer opportunities since 1965!

Founded in 1965 by Len Barron, a student of the University of Colorado, SLICE was created as a multi-faceted volunteer organization. As a fully student-funded and student-run organization, SLICE is the volunteer placement service of CU-Boulder. Mission Statement:

Celebrate 150 years of beautiful Colorado and CU Boulder’s service with SLICE and the Lockwood Foundation. This organization helps people with limited mobility experience Colorado’s trails and mountains—something made possible through teamwork and community.
Volunteers will hike scenic, uneven trails, using strength and collaboration to create an incredible outdoor experience for someone else.
Food and transportation provided. Staff, faculty, and students are WELCOME!
