There’s a legacy in my family to go BIG for H🎃lloween.

During my childhood, my family would “go out of town” and our house would become the neighborhood Haunted House, taken over by witches and complete with sp👻👻ky music so loud you could hear it on the other side of the neighborhood.

My dad would bring his skeleton 🩻home from his medical office to greet the kids with a cauldron full of candy. 🍬 I

🧙‍♀️My mother would stand in wait with one of the scariest witch masks I’ve seen to date only to move moments before a child would go to grab some candy. (I’ve seen many a nearly grown woman leap and scream from her antics - a rival to even the most traumatizing of 80s thrillers. 🪓

And one year my dad wrapped himself head to toe in medical gauze only to drag his leg around the neighborhood moaning. Never breaking from character. (That mummy costume will live in infamy as far as I’m concerned.)

So YES…I go all out for Halloween. 🎃
And every year that looks a little different.

This year the family is taking its inspiration from

Though we also made a cameo as a kaleidoscope of butterflies for a seasonal 5k run. 🦋🦋🦋

And we hit up a party as a and 🧜‍♀️😽

So yes, there are often a litany if costumes that make an appearance throughout the WEEK or Halloween.

And YES, my family has both a costume closet and a costume box…but have no fear, we love to share.

Craft a life that supports your goals and helps routinize life-affirming choices…and watch as everything else starts to mold around it.

Your thoughts create your world.

Focus on your dream life, your ideal attide, the way you look and feel when all is well and you will start making choices in that direction.

Focus on what’s wrong, feeding the inner critic, and harping on what’s wrong in the world and watch as things start to degrade.

There’s a fine line between accepting reality and looking at it earnestly to make change and dwelling.

There’s a stark difference between living in a cloud and visualizing your goals on your path to success.

It’s a delicate dance but a joyous one.

Let me guess…you’re exhausted all day, then you find yourself doing a million things before bed unable to settle down and sleep.

In the world of hormones, we call this “TIRED + WIRED!”

Speaking from experience, this can be exceptionally frustrating.

All you want to do all day is sleep, but when bedtime comes around you’re frantically cleaning, clearing out emails or you find yourself mindlessly scrolling when you KNOW you should be asleep by now.

And yet this pattern is extremely common for new mothers, women going through perimenopause or menopause, or people whose carcadian rhythm has gone off kilter for a number of different reasons. .

Good Sleep hygiene is critical for aging well and for functioning well consistency. Chronic sleep issues can lead to mood and cognitive client and has been linked to several chronic illnesses.

Supporting my clients with their stress management and sleep hygiene is the third pillar of my 90 Day Hormone Reset System. It’s also a category of health and wellness that when optimized can benefit nearly everyone.

Did you know that you need quality sleep to manufacture many of your bodies vital hormones?
And if you don’t sleep well you may not produce what you need to feel and function at your best?

Executive function, critical thinking and creativity are also heavily impacted by sleep.

And don’t even get me started about how sleep impacts mood regulation. Talk to any sleep deprived parent about their overall well being and you’re likely to hear a mix of the following: uncontrollable rage, extreme anxiety, depression.

I don’t know about you, but when I’m anxious, depressed and angry I’m not the best version of myself and I certainly don’t make the best decisions about my health.

As it turns out, insufficient sleep and/or stress can also cause weight gain. When you don’t sleep your body thinks that danger is lurking and has a tendency to hold on to pounds. Stress also has a way of being a self fulfilling prophecy. When you aren’t sleeping and stressed you created a soup of stress hormones. But that process gets in the way of manufacturing the hormones that could help you relax. But without those relaxing hormones we feel more stressed and the cycle continues.

Gnarly cycle to say the least.

It’s not the moments we fall down that define us…it’s what happens next that determines our character.

At age 20 I shattered two vertebrae in my neck. I was warned of a lifetime of pain, vulnerabilities and limitations. But as an athlete with a rebellious spirit I was determined to carve another path.

Thankfully I found yoga shortly thereafter and the pursuit of healing and integration became my primary focus. 🧘

It took discipline and hard work but as years turned in to decades I’ve all but erased the imprint of this horrible injury. 💪🏻

Time and time again I’ve been told that an injury, illness or condition was permanent only to find a way to heal and overcome.

Broken bones, auto immune issues, trauma, chronic infections, hormonal imbalances…all overcome. ⛰️

When each of these hurdles appeared I turned inward, slowed down, and dug deep. I would set my sights on healing, seek out support and began inching my way towards wellness.

❤️Each time I’m left stronger, wiser and more compassionate.

❤️ Each obstacle I’ve overcome leaves me better able to help others do the same.

✨The body is designed to heal.

✨ So often it’s the lack of hope that causes people to fail.

✨ I suspect that a big reason my clients succeed is that I can meet them in their fear and discomfort and offer a living example of what it means to overcome.

🛑 Don’t ever let anyone tell you something is futile. If someone tries to smash your dreams or your hope; walk the other way.

I’m here to tell you that if you want a better body or life, its yours for the taking. It’s going to take hard work, discipline and determination. It may even test your resilience and your faith. But here’s the good news, your body is on your side. And if you hire me as your coach…I will be too.
