We value knowledge as the tool to succeed in schools, the workplace, and the community and as a cornerstone of achievement and growth.

There are a great deal of Cabo Verdean-Americans and Cabo Verdeans from the diaspora who take pride in their civic responsibility and are active voters. The disconnect is that, as a community, we do not know those exact numbers. Neither do we know the numbers of Cabo Verdeans who are eligible to register to vote after they’ve acquired U.S. citizenship.

This has left a sense that the members of our community across the country are not active voters in neither local, state, or national elections. It is clear, nonetheless, that as an ethnic group it’s important that we know where our voting numbers stand. We need to put in work and dive deep in order to grasp this understanding.

CVAN plans to launch a Post-election Community in Numbers Project and we look forward to acquiring your support in this important endeavor. But until then, we ask that you help us show our commitment as active voters in this country. We are providing two digital stickers, and , for you to use in your social media once you have voted before or on November 3. There is a great deal of work ahead of us and with your support this is where we can start.
