✨ LOOK UP – Andromeda Rises ✨
📅 October 2, 2025
Tonight, the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) climbs higher into our sky — our nearest galactic neighbor, glowing faintly from 2.5 million light years away, yet still visible to the naked eye.
🔭 How to See It
• Go to a dark sky far from city lights.
• Look northeast after sunset.
• Start from the bright star Alpheratz in Pegasus, then trace toward Andromeda — it will appear as a faint smudge of light.
👁️ What You’ll Notice
• To the eye: a soft, hazy glow.
• With binoculars or a small telescope: Andromeda reveals its vast spiral arms, stretching over 220,000 light years.
💫 Fun Fact
In about 4.5 billion years, Andromeda and the Milky Way will merge into a single galaxy — “Milkomeda.” But tonight, you can see it rising silently on the horizon, a reminder of the universe’s timeless dance.
✨ The farthest object visible with your eyes alone is waiting above you. Don’t miss it.
