👔Principal for the Day Announcement!
Mr. Alex officially took the reins as Park Street School Principal for the day, and what a day it was!
After signing his official contract and reviewing the day’s agenda, Principal Alex jumped right into leadership mode by greeting students at arrival. A breakfast strategy session at Paramount with trusted colleagues may or may not have included some top-secret school business. 🤫
The day’s highlights? Reading to Kindergarten, handing out coveted marshmallow pins during classroom observations, and carefully considering very serious recess proposals from his Grade 2 "colleagues".
In one of his biggest executive decisions, Principal Alex enthusiastically approved an ALL-SCHOOL Spirit Day for the next week. 🎉
By the end of the day, students and faculty agreed: Principal Alex’s leadership was a HUGE success.
Thank you for leading the way, Mr. Alex. We think the corner office suits you! 👏

✨History comes to life in First Grade! ✨
Our Spring Concert, "Celebrating 250 Years with New Hope", was more than a joyful evening of singing and acting. It was a celebration of learning in action and a main feature of our History Fair.
This spring, our first graders have been stepping into the story of America’s founding as they explored the 13 original colonies, the Stamp Act, and events leading up to Independence. Along the way, they wrote letters to King George expressing anger over unfair taxes, brought history to life through books and storytelling, created costumes for the concert, and even visited Paul Revere’s home in Boston’s North End.
At the concert, students proudly sang the patriotic anthem “Chester” and boldly protested British soldiers while dressed as Patriots before a sanctuary filled with families and friends at Park Street Church.
More than memorizing facts, students are growing in understanding, connection, and belonging. History becomes more meaningful when students can step into the story and discover what it still teaches us today.
Huzzah! ✨

PSS’s Grade 4 and 5 students, with MA State Senator Liz Miranda and MA State Senator Nick Collins, on the day of passage of the PROTECT Act by the MA State Senate, May 7, 2026. (photo credit: Senator Miranda's office, Elizabeth Lohnes) Our students were invited to sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” at the National Day of Prayer service at the Massachusetts State House on May 7, 2026; a song first sung publicly by children at Park Street Church on July 4, 1831. To our surprise, we were invited by Senator Miranda to visit the Senate Chamber!
To the Senators: We LOVED our time with you, Senator Miranda, Senator Collins, Senator Jehlen, Senator Howard, and Senator Rausch! Thank you for the spontaneous tour, showing us your favorite spots, and sharing so many interesting facts! We loved the stories (the cod, the mackerel), seeing senators' names written in drawers, and hearing about changes to be made in the Chamber. MOST of all, we were touched by your willingness to forego your recess in the midst of such an important policy discussion to serve our students. You were warm, engaging, and generous with your time and attention!

🐣 PSS is proud to introduce you to our seven baby chicks!
There’s something remarkable about watching new life emerge—especially when students have been part of the process from the very beginning.
In our new science lab, students are experiencing the life cycle firsthand, connecting their study of animal classification, vertebrates, and growth to something real and tangible - and oh so cute!
These moments deepen understanding in a way that textbooks alone cannot—turning observation into insight and curiosity into lasting knowledge.
Experiences like this reflect the heart of learning at Park Street School: thoughtful, engaging, and rooted in discovery. 💡

Celebrating 250 Years with New Hope | PSS Spring Concert
Boston’s story is still being told - 250 years later – through the voices of our students. At Park Street School, we embrace Boston as a classroom, drawing on its rich history, deepening our learning, and bringing it to life!
This year’s Spring Concert invited us back into Boston before the Revolution. We heard familiar voices: Sam Adams, Dr. Joseph Warren and John Hancock. We also heard Crispus Attucks, Sarah Bradlee Fulton and Phyllis Wheatley. Students gave voice to the multi-faceted hopes, convictions, and courage that shaped our nation.
What resonated most was not only history—but the continuity of hope.
From the past:
Abigail Adams: “I hope for liberty for us all…”
Sarah Bradlee Fulton: “I can only pray that my actions convey a spring of hope for freedom…”
Sam Adams: “Let us, in our actions and protest, express our hope…”
And from our students, carrying hope forward:
Kindergarten: “We hope we use our words to solve problems.”
Grade 1: “We hope no one has to sleep outside or be cold, and that we take care of each other.”
Grade 4: “We hope everyone can be welcome into our country, and that we are all treated equally. We hope people keep the environment clean! That people respect religion and culture, and we are all free from wars and harm. We hope everyone has a roof over their heads, food to eat and that everyone is allowed to go to school. We hope no one is judged by how they look and that everyone know they are loved by God.”
As we reflect on the past, we are forming students who are not only learning history—but preparing to shape what comes next with wisdom, compassion, and enduring hope.
