I founded my business 27 years ago and have since developed the strategies necessary to achieve long-term success in a competitive environment.

Welcome to my page. I am a small business owner for 27 years. I've started my business from scratch and with little money. After 27 years I decided to share my experience on different subjects with others. I hope my experience and knowledge will help you.

What proportion of people in the trades go on to own their own business? How much can people in the trades who don't own their own business expect to make?

It is a very general question. The ability to make good money depends on the industry and your personal skills. If you build a reputation as a knowledgeable and reliable tradesman who doesn’t charge a fortune, your profits will grow eventually because your existing customers will recommend you to others. What proportion of people in trades start their own business? It really depends on a person. If you want to be your own boss and you feel you can do it on your own, then start your own business. Otherwise, you will always rely on some boss who will give you a job and a steady income.

Almost everyone I talk to has a business idea they've thought about starting, yet months (sometimes years) pass, and nothing happens. If you're being honest, what's the main thing holding you back right now?

I believe most people hesitate to start their own business because they are afraid of uncertainty. Even with good planning, there is always a risk that the business might fail. If that happens, the owner could end up with debt and no income. For many, this fear is too much and stops them from moving forward.

How do successful entrepreneurs validate their business ideas before investing significant time and money?

I would start by doing research on how unique this business idea is. Second, how complicated would it be to start a business similar to yours? For example, costly equipment or special licenses. Or if your business uses some secret ingredients that nobody else can manufacture products similar to yours without those ingredients. Finally, if your products or services will be in demand for at least the next 10 years, and you will be able to get the money that you invested back with profit.
