Happy International Colour Day! In the spirit of Design Innovation at MassArt, here’s a bit of the Munsell Color System, invented by MassArt professor Albert Munsell 120 years ago. It bears a lot of similarity to the HSB system introduced for computer graphics in the 1970’s and has stood up pretty well in concept and practice (still in use in some parts of the world of color!)

Day 1 of Global Service Jam at MassArt Boston! ⚡

One thing I love about being in an art & design school is the exposure we get to such a range of creative expression. First up is the sand mandala being created in the atrium of the DMC. Then a similarly ephemeral, wildly detailed whiteboard drawing in the architecture and industrial design floor. And hanging now is a wonderful printmaking exhibit with a perfect future-focused prompt to bring forward the voice of young artists.

Kicking off another Fall semester with our annual Basecamp offsite. Welcome to our new classmates! We are excited for all the great work ahead.
