Always great having industry voices in the IRP Record Production Capstone class.

Huge thanks to .esq for stopping by and sharing real-world insight on music law, the business side of the industry, and the AI challenges we’re all navigating right now.

The students got a lot out of it. Looking forward to having him back down the road.

Come join John Paterno and me as we break down the love–hate relationship between music production and computers 🎛️💻

Thursday, Jan. 29 5–7pm Immersive Tech Lab/CTC • 150 Mass Ave.

Join IRP professor Sohta Tsuchiya and MP&E professor John Paterno as they discuss Mac computer basics, and how an understanding of a few key concepts can enhance the workflow - and confidence - of a music producer. Good mix looks good too.
You can see the story—the dynamics building, the energy shifting, that sweet lift at the end.
I swear I use my ears… but sometimes Pro Tools gives you a little visual high-five.

🎶 Had an incredible session in our advanced recording class with Gabriel from We explored the versatility of DPA mics in both studio and live settings. Their precision is unmatched—definitely a top choice for capturing authentic sounds. Can’t wait to pack a few DPA mics on my next field recording adventure! 🌍🎧
