Progress in the Treatment of Childhood Leukemia 08/14/2015

We love seeing Dr. Stegmaier featured in stories about progress in Childhood Leukemia

Progress in the Treatment of Childhood Leukemia Although treatments for childhood cancer patients are improving, cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease in children. Doctors and researchers are also focused on decreasing the toxicity of these treatments, which can have side effects years after a child finishes treatment.

We are very excited to announce that for the 7th consecutive year, we will have a team walking the Boston Marathon route for the Jimmy Fund Walk to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute]. As you can see from our picture from 2013, its an event that makes us smile as everyone, regardless of age and income, has the ability to raise money and awareness for Cancer. If you would like to help us get to our goal of $10,000 by joining our team or donating to us, visit www.thejimmyfundwalk.org/2015/projectcupid

Project Cupid would like to announce to arrival of our newest little volunteer, Sawyer MacMillan Blue! Sawyer was born on October 21st (with a mullet, no lie), weighing in at 8 pounds, 5 ounces. Amy and I could not be any happier (or any more tired).

While we train Sawyer for the whole charity thing, we are putting Project Cupid into hiatus. This means that we will not be doing our huge annual date auction this coming February. This, of course, doesnt mean you shouldnt give to the Jimmy Fund. Indeed, i have heard some rumblings that the Jimmy Fund may be looking at doing a date auction of their own, and when we get more details, we will absolutely pass it along to yall.

Oh, as of this past September, over 100,000 dollars has been raised in the past 5 years under the Project Cupid banner. This wouldnt have been possible without all the love and support from our friends, the folks at the Jimmy Fund Special Events crew, the volunteers, all the businesses and organizations that have donated, all the awesome bachelors and bachelorettes and all those who have come to our events

So thank you from The Blue's: Amy, Josh and little Sawyer too. we hope yall have a great holiday season

So, a few huge announcements:
1. The founders of Project Cupid, Amy and Josh Blue, are expecting their first child in late October (it's a boy! Sawyer MacMillan Blue). For those wondering where Amy was at Project Cupid's 5th Annual Date Auction this year...well, now you know :p

2. We will be having 2 (TWO!) Project Trivia nights this summer in support of our Jimmy Fund Walk team this September. Details coming very shortly. If you want to support Project Cupid this year, the best way is to come to our trivia events, or give to members of our walk team or even better, join our walk team (link below)

3. And the reason that is the best way to support Project Cupid this year is because, regretfully, we will not be running our annual charity date auction in 2015. There's a good chance we will be back in 2016, so stay single! or, just plan on breaking up with your guy/girl by December 2015 (save your money for Project Cupid instead of buying them a Christmas present. I'm calling that a win/win).

With a baby on the way, Amy and I have decided that it is in our best interest to focus on family for the time being. Don't worry...we'll be showing Sawyer the ropes soon enough. Child labor rules don't apply to charity events, right?

Congratulations to two of our former bachelors, Rob and Brad whose business, Rugged Maniac 5K Obstacle Race received a 1.75 Million dollar investment from Mark Cuban on Shark Tank Last night.
