Student Spotlight!

Rachel Snavely is a second-year from Ephrata, Pennsylvania majoring in Theatre Education. During her time at Emerson, she has most enjoyed the opportunity to work with brilliant people in her field who were kind and encouraging.

Currently, she is working on structuring her thesis around Playmaking and Feminist Theory. She hopes to be able to work with a group of young women in the spring and create a play through devising. She credits a class with Bethany Nelson on Playmaking as having been life-changing. Rachel hopes to take the expertise gained from Nelson into places like her hometown to inspire young people who only view theatre as black and white and good or bad. It is important to Rachel to be able to create social change through theatre and performance.
