Ryan Beach made this incredible video about my Sound Truth Library... Why is it incredible? Because, when you spend as much time on a project as I did on this library, and on Symphony Stage, in particular, and a young pro tries it out, clearly TOTALLY gets the conceot and then makes this polished video without my even asking... pure gold.
No idea what I am talking about? Ryan, describes it in link below. AND, he has some awesome stuff on his channel, so be sure to subscribe!

Incredibly proud of my former student Diana Lopez, who in the last 72 hours has played three auditions- one for Northwestern, one in South Bend where she was the runner up and one for the Carmel Symphony (IN), where she won the principal position!

I only got to play two pieces w the great Seiji: 50th anniversary of Peter Grimes while a student at Tanglewood, and later, after he hired me at the BSO, Mahler 2, also at Tanglewood . He was a ballet dancer on the podium and a great musician. RIP Seiji and thanks for giving me a shot!

Forgot to post this. Funny that these little backstage passes haven’t changed at all since I started playing shows at Carnegie w the CSO in 2000. When I started these trips w the BSO, we came 2-3 times a year. Good to be home!!!

So proud of my former student, who nailed down the second trumpet job in The Canton Symphony (OH- an orchestra I auditioned for and DIDN’T get in during my undergrad years). Great work Kevin!!

Lola says she likes this quote from James Clear: “It’s easier to optimize a modest start than to begin with a perfect start. Starting is the hard part, so start small and get in the mix. You’ll learn a lot and you’ll realize you don’t need to have it all figured out to begin.”
