Child malnutrition is more than hunger-it’s a long-term barrier to health, development, and opportunity🌎

Join us for a panel discussion exploring UNICEF’s mission to support children’s well-being and why nutrition is the foundation of child survival worldwide.

We’re honored to welcome Erin Boyd, a Senior Nutrition Advisor at USAID with over 20 years of experience in international nutrition and humanitarian response, including work with UNICEF in emergency settings across Darfur, Haiti, and Pakistan.
She is joined by Rebecca Egan, a former USAID Division Director and leader in nutrition policy and global health, who is also affiliated with Tufts’ Friedman School.

Together, they bring deep expertise in both field-based programming and high-level policy, offering valuable insight into one of today’s most pressing global challenges.

Change doesn’t always start at the top - it often starts with girls showing up for each other in their own communities.

This powerful report by UNICEF and Purposeful (POWER4Girls partnership) highlights how girls’ movements are creating real impact - from personal empowerment to community change, shifting social norms, strengthening civil society, and even influencing policy.

At the same time, it’s clear that these movements are still underfunded and understudied. Supporting girls’ leadership means not just recognizing their impact, but actually investing in it and making sure their voices are heard where decisions are made.

We hope to see you there for this meaningful discussion.

Four years ago, on February 24, 2022, Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. Four years later, Ukraine’s children are still paying an extraordinary price.

The war has resulted in death, injuries, and mass displacement, with millions forced to flee their homes. Children have been robbed of their childhoods - of time with friends and family, of stability, of a peaceful life. Many carry invisible scars and trauma that may take a lifetime to heal.

The damage extends beyond the battlefield. Vital infrastructure has been severely impacted, limiting access to electricity, heating, water, and telecommunications. Families’ incomes and access to essential services have been decimated.

Pre-schools, primary, and secondary schools have been damaged or destroyed by bombing and shelling, disrupting children’s education - with potentially lifelong consequences.

Displaced children, those living in institutions, and children with disabilities face particularly severe challenges.

This is not only a war between nations. It is a crisis affecting an entire generation. Stand with their children of Ukraine. Support UNICEF’s work. Stay informed. Share their stories.🇺🇦🙏🏻

Child malnutrition is not just about hunger - it’s about stolen potential. When children lack proper nutrition, their bodies weaken, their ability to learn declines, and their futures are quietly shaped by circumstances beyond their control. Malnutrition is often driven by poverty, conflict, and inequality - forces no child should have to face.

This is why it matters. Every child deserves the chance to grow strong, succeed in school, and imagine a future without limits. UNICEF works to protect that right - because addressing malnutrition isn’t just about survival, it’s about safeguarding childhood itself.
