Jayson on how he and Jaylen finally got over the hump and learned to coexist.. โWeโve figured out that we need each other,โ Jayson Tatum says. โWe have learned how to coexist. And we know we need to be the best version of ourselves in order for all of this to work. We werenโt necessarily the best playmakers early in our careers but we developed into guys that really bleed the game. We want to be a great example of guys that play on both ends as a floor and guys who are the best teammates that we can be.โ

Bob Cousy has seen all of the Celtics NBA championships and now the Worcester resident will officially be part of the teamโs 18th title win. Celtics team governor Wyc Grousbeck told the Hall of Fame point guard on Tuesday that the franchise would be present Cousy with a championship ring according to Bill Doyle of the Worcester Telegram.
Grousbeck paid a visit to Cousy at his Worcester home to pass along the news and bring along the franchiseโs championship trophies to share with the Celtics legend, Cousy, 95, remains a close observer of the franchise after spending nearly 50 years as both a player and color commentator for the franchise.
The 13-time All-star won six titles with the Celtics as a player and also predicted the team would beat the Mavericks in five games ahead of the NBA Finals according to Grousbeck.
Cousy also told Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston last month that he hopes former teammate Satch Sanders would be able to join him at TD Garden as the franchise raises their 18th banner.
โItโs something I would love to participate in,โ Cousy told Forsberg. โI would have one condition: that I share it with my dear friend and the only remaining player left from the โ50s and โ60s, Satch Sanders, who doesnโt get enough attention. I would love to have him at my side.โ
The NBA schedule will officially be released next month but the team is expected to host the opener when the regular season kicks off on Oct. 22.

BOSTON, MA โ The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed forward Sam Hauser to a contract
extension. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
โYou can count on Sam. He comes to work every single day with the right mindset and attitude,โ said Brad Stevens, President of Basketball Operations. โHis shooting gets most of the attention โ but his feel for the game, defensive versatility, and his consistency as a teammate have allowed him to impact our team in the biggest of moments. We are excited Sam has decided to extend his contract with the Celtics.โ
Hauser has appeared in 185 career games (21 starts) with the Celtics over the last three years, averaging 7.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game since originally signing to a two-way contract in August 2021. Hauser owns the best three-point shooting percentage in Celtics history at 42.2 percent (min. 150 3FG) while his 356 career makes ranks 15th in Celtics history. The Wisconsin native is one of only five Celtics in franchise history to register at least 400 rebounds, 270 three-pointers, and 115 assists off the bench.
During the 2023-24 season, Hauser appeared in 79 games (13 starts) and averaged career-highs across the board with 9.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 22.0 minutes per game. Hauser played in all 19 playoff games during the Celticsโ championship run and averaged 5.4 points and 2.2 rebounds while shooting 42.9 percent from the floor. On February 13, he scored his 1,000th career point on a catch-and-shoot three against Brooklyn, becoming the 11th Celtic to score at least 1,000 points off the bench since 2006.

The Boston Celtics believed in Sam Hauser when no other NBA team did, and now they have doubled down on their commitment to each other.
The undrafted-free-agent-turned-NBA-champion penned a fresh page in his remarkable basketball story Tuesday by signing a contract extension with the Cโs.
After each team passed on Hauser in the 2021 NBA draft, the Celtics gave the University of Virginia product a chance with a two-way contract. Hauser worked his way up from there to a standard contract by his second season, earning consistent minutes in the rotation. By his third season, Hauser was one of Bostonโs main pieces off the bench and played a key role in the teamโs championship run.
โIโm a believer in things happening for a reason,โ Hauser told Celtics.com on the night Boston captured its 18th title. โThe Celtics gave me an opportunity, and I just try to make the most of it every day, try to get better every day.โ
Hauser has improved in every aspect of the game since joining the Celtics. He came in as a strong shooter and from there, developed into one of the premier marksmen in the league. He currently owns the best 3-point percentage in Celtics history (42.2 percent) among players who have played multiple seasons with the team.
Heโs also become a reliable defender, making him a legitimate 3-and-D threat. On top of that, heโs been a model teammate, bringing a positive presence to the locker room every day.
โYou can count on Sam,โ Stevens said. โHe comes to work every single day with the right mindset and attitude. His shooting gets most of the attention โ but his feel for the game, defensive versatility, and his consistency as a teammate have allowed him to impact our team in the biggest of moments. We are excited Sam has decided to extend his contract with the Celtics.โ
Hauser is coming off his best season yet after producing 9.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game for the champs. He shot 42.4 percent from long range, the fourth-best mark in the NBA among players with at least 400 such attempts. Of his 197 made threes, 179 were of catch-and-shoot fashion, the sixth-most in the league.
Hauser is the eighth Celtic to commit to an extension since April, joining Jrue Holiday, Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, Luke Kornet, Xavier Tillman, Neemias Queta, and two-way player Drew Peterson. The team also extended Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, and Payton Pritchard before the start of last season.
Bostonโs front office is all-in on its championship crew and Hauser is a major piece in that. Heโs come a long way from his days as an undrafted free agent and heโs earned this long-term commitment from the team after all of the hard work heโs put in over the last three years.

Jordan Walsh found his shooting stroke Sunday afternoon, turning what had been a cold start to the Las Vegas Summer League into a flamethrowing finale.
After shooting 0-for-22 from 3-point range through the first four games, the second-year wing opened Game 5 by sinking three consecutive triples. He finished with a team-high 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-8 from long range in a 103-98 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Walsh excelled in a few other areas besides scoring, posting a team-high two blocks along with team-high-tying marks of four offensive rebounds and seven total rebounds. The 20-year-old also handed out a pair of assists as part of a well-rounded, 31-minute effort.
Walsh was just one of several Celtics who closed out the summer session on a high note.
Jaelen House scored 17 points off the bench, giving him 35 points over the last two contests. The 6-foot guard also handed out a team-high six assists following a nine-assist effort against Dallas Friday afternoon.
Tyler Cook was cookinโ off the bench, too. The 6-foot-8 center scored 15 points through the first three quarters to lead all scorers and finished with 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and a 6-of-8 effort from the free-throw line.
Anton Watson stepped up with 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting while also grabbing four rebounds and handing out three assists. The second-round pick has been a model of consistency of late, scoring between 14 and 15 points in each of his last three games.
First-round pick Baylor Scheierman was the fifth and final Celtic to score in double digits, finishing with 13 points. The starting wing also tied Walsh for the game lead in offensive and total rebounds.
Boston grabbed its first lead of the game at the 4:05 mark of the first quarter and didnโt trail again until the 4:45 mark of the third frame. That was around the time when Philly caught fire, as it entered the fourth quarter on a 13-3 run while holding onto a 10-point lead.
The Cโs slowly chipped away again down the stretch before tying it back up 96-96 with 1:39 left in the game. However, leading scorer David Jones (23 points) responded for Philly with a go-ahead 3-pointer and then teammate Judah Mintz hit a turnaround dagger to seal the game.
It wasnโt the finish the Celtics had hoped for, as it closed out the summer with a 2-3 record; however, their rookies and second-year players gained some valuable experience in the process.
