Students joined us for our Community Health Nursing Clinical Internship where they spent two weeks shadowing Belizean nurses and medical professionals at local hospitals and conducting home visits.

They got to enjoy all beautiful Belize has to offer from crystal clear waters, ancient ruins, and other exciting excursions! 🤩

Greetings from our Mississippi State Study Abroad students who joined us for our Large Animal Veterinary Practice in the Tropics program! ❤️

They were able to gain working knowledge of husbandry and health issues facing farm and large animals in Belize.

They learned about:
🐴 Nutrition, reproduction, and management of farm animals
🩺 Veterinary examinations at working ranches
🐄 Agriculture economics and research

We can’t ‘Belize’ that this session of Large Animal is already over! 🇧🇿

Students recently completed their Large Animal Veterinary Practice in the Tropics program where they got to learn about husbandry and health care for large animals in Belize.

They had the chance to:
🐑 Practice hands-on vet techniques at working ranches and farms.
🧑‍🌾 Learn about selection, nutrition, reproduction and management of farm animals
🌾 Explore topics like agriculture economics and animal diseases and research
🐾 Assist at a small animal clinic

And of course they got to soak up the sun during beach visits and cultural excursions.☀️

Say ‘hay’ to our CELA Belize students! 🌾

Our students recently finished their Large Animal Veterinary Practice in the Tropics program where they spent two weeks gaining hands-on experience in large animal medicine and exploring the beauty and culture of Belize.🇧🇿🩺

Students had the opportunity to:
🐎 Learn veterinary examination techniques at working ranches and farms
🐄 Work with cattle, horses, goats, sheep, and pigs
🧑‍🔬 Learn about animal health and disease
🐖 Explore topics like nutrition, reproduction, genetics, and livestock management

Students also participated in a community small animal clinic, where they helped support local animal health efforts💙

They got to take advantage of opportunities to explore the beauty and culture of Belize☀️🌴

Faculty-led groups are the best!💙

Alma College us joined CELA Belize for a hands-on nursing experience focused on community health, cultural immersion, and healthcare education in Belize.🩺

During their time with us, students had the opportunity to:
🌎 Learn about global and public health through the Belizean healthcare system
🩺 Participate in community health visits
🤝 Interact with Belizean healthcare professionals and community health workers

Outside of their clinical settings, students got to experience the culture and natural beauty of Belize through local excursions🌴
