There is a peculiar kind of prison only highly capable women can build.

It does not look like captivity. It looks like a gorgeous kitchen, a color-coded calendar, couples therapy every Thursday, and a woman explaining why she should be grateful.

Because when you can handle almost anything, “I can survive this” starts masquerading as evidence that you should.

So you wait for the relationship, career, obligation, or identity to become undeniably awful.
You want a smoking gun.
A villain.
A catastrophe that will make your desire admissible in the court of public opinion.

But wanting more is not a legal case.

You do not need twelve exhibits and a hostile witness.
Your life does not have to become unbearable before you are allowed to stop bearing it.

Finish this sentence somewhere honest:

I keep waiting for __________ before I allow myself to __________.

Save this or share it with a woman that needs the reminder that her answer may be the door.

Most women have been taught to treat fantasy as one of two things: meaningless entertainment or dangerous evidence that something is wrong.

I think both interpretations miss the most interesting part.

A recurring fantasy is often your body using images because your spectacularly responsible mind has vetoed the words.

The apartment may be asking for space.
The stranger may be asking to be pursued.
The pole class may be asking for permission to be watched. The surrender fantasy may be asking for twenty minutes in which you are not the CEO of every fu***ng thing.

You do not have to obey a fantasy. But if you keep putting it on the witness stand until it confesses to being impractical, you will miss the information it came to deliver.

Tonight, skip the question, “Would I actually do this?”

Ask instead: “What feeling does this fantasy give me that my current life does not?”

That is where the truth gets interesting.

If one word came up, leave it below 👇
Space? Heat? Freedom? Devotion? Surprise?

Here’s what nobody tells you about that moment of recognition:
It doesn’t come with an action plan.

You can know, bone deep, that you’ve been abandoning yourself for forty years and still spend the next six months finding reasons it’s not quite time yet.

The kids. The money. The holidays. The fact that things aren’t THAT bad.

You’ll be tempted to turn this into a mindset problem. Journal about it. Meditate on it. Read another book about boundaries.

None of that is going to touch it.

Because this was never a knowledge problem. You already know. You’ve known for years.

This is a body problem. You abandoned yourself somatically, one accommodation at a time, and you’re not going to think your way back into yourself. You have to feel your way back in.

That’s the work. Not more insight. Not another framework.
A room. A body. Permission to stop editing yourself down to a version everyone else finds convenient.

If you read that hook and felt the needle come off the record, you already know which side of this you’re on.

You don’t want HER life.
You want to stop pretending you don’t want more from yours.

More intimacy.
More freedom.
More adventure.
More pleasure.
More room to be outrageous.

More moments that make you think, Holy f**k, I cannot believe I get to live this life.

That flash of envy isn’t asking you to copy another woman’s choices.
It’s showing you the distance between the life you are managing beautifully and the life that would make you feel wildly, unmistakably alive.

You do not have to blow everything up.

But you do have to stop treating your deepest desires like an embarrassing inconvenience you’ll deal with someday.

F**K YES is where that changes.

It’s a live erotic initiation for accomplished women who are done postponing their own aliveness.

The hardest part isn’t saying, “Slower.”
It’s what happens inside you when his face changes.
When he looks confused.
Disappointed.
A little defensive.
When he says, “But I thought you liked that.”

Can you stay with what is true in your body?
Or do you immediately start managing his reaction?

No, no, it’s fine.
You’re not doing anything wrong.
Forget I said anything.

That is the moment.

Not finding the perfect words.
Remaining with yourself after you’ve said them.

Because your desire is allowed to change.
What felt good yesterday may not feel good today.
A yes to this touch is not a permanent contract.
And another person’s reaction does not make your body wrong.

Asking for what you want in bed is not merely a communication skill.
It is embodied self-trust.

This week on The Sensual Sisterhood Podcast, Barbara Katsnelson | Feminine Embodiment Coach and I are talking about how to ask for what you want before, during, and after s*x without killing the mood.

Here’s what nobody’s saying out loud.

We built a whole culture on the idea that your worth is measured in output. Keep producing. Keep optimizing. Keep performing. Keep delivering, until the day you die, and call it a life well lived.

It’s exhausting. And it’s a lie.

Meanwhile, an entire industry makes billions of dollars a year selling you a synthetic version of what your body already knows how to make for free. Dopamine in a capsule. Serotonin in a script. Oxytocin you have to pay a subscription for.

Your body produces all of it. On demand. Every time you let yourself feel something real.

But we’ve been so convinced that pleasure is frivolous, indulgent, something you earn after you’ve suffered enough, that most women would rather buy the synthetic version than simply take what’s already theirs.

I’m not against microdosing. I think everyone should be doing it.

I just think most people are dosing the wrong thing.

Pleasure isn’t the reward for a life well lived. It’s the mechanism. It’s how you build the capacity to actually hold one.

Nobody just decided pleasure was shameful for no reason.

Someone benefits from you rationing your own medicine.

A body running on cortisol is easier to sell to. Easier to keep small, busy, exhausted, and reaching for the next thing that promises relief instead of remembering the relief already lives in you, free, unlimited, no prescription required.

The wellness industry has built an entire economy selling you a manufactured version of what your own body already makes for free. Retreats. Supplements. Subscriptions. All promising a version of what one unrationed exhale could hand you for nothing.

You aren’t broken. You’re just more profitable while you’re sedated.

That’s the part nobody says out loud when they tell you to earn your pleasure. It was never about protecting your virtue. It was about keeping you needing something outside yourself.

Your body has had the medicine this whole time.

If you want to feel that instead of just believing it, The Return will put you back in your body in less time than it took to read this caption. Link in bio 👆

Nobody warns you what happens in the silence after you stop explaining yourself.

You brace for the fight. The follow-up text. The “so what did you mean by that.” You’ve got the counter-argument loaded and ready.

And sometimes... nothing comes.

They just sit there, still thinking whatever they were going to think. And you sit there too, waiting for the relief to show up on schedule like it’s supposed to.
It doesn’t. Not right away.

For a few days it just feels like an itch you’re not allowed to scratch. The old version of you keeps reaching for her phone to add “one more thing.” One more piece of context. One more clarifying text at 11pm that starts with “I’ve been thinking and I just want to say.”

I didn’t send it.

That’s the part nobody tells you about self-trust. It’s not a single brave moment. It’s the fifteenth time you don’t send the text.

And then one day, weeks later, you notice you haven’t thought about whether they understand you in a while. Not because you stopped caring. Because you stopped needing them to.

That’s not closure. Closure was never coming.

That’s just what freedom feels like before you recognize it as freedom.

You don’t have to build this alone in the dark, wondering if you’re crazy for choosing yourself again.

Inside The Sensual Sisterhood, there’s a room full of women who didn’t send the text either. Who know exactly what the fifteenth time feels like. Who will witness you choosing yourself before you even fully believe it yourself.

I used to believe the story too. Fifty, divorce, menopause, that’s supposedly when a woman’s erotic life quietly closes up shop.

I’m living proof that story was never true. It was just convenient for everyone who benefits from women staying small and quiet about what they want.

I called a man I hadn’t spoken to in twenty-seven years and told him exactly what I wanted. Not a hint. Not a maybe. The actual thing.

He said yes before I finished the sentence.

That’s not luck. That’s what happens when you stop negotiating your desire down to something more comfortable for everyone else.

Fear doesn’t disappear when you choose yourself. It just stops being the one driving.

I told the whole story, the divorce, the phone call, the s*x life nobody warns you is possible after fifty, on this week’s podcast episode. It’s the most intimate, unfiltered version. Link in bio 👆
