Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts – Binh Dinh Academy was deeply honored to lead the procession and offer prayers at the Hung Kings Festival, hosted by the Vietnamese-American Community of Massachusetts.

Hung Kings Festival (Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương) has been observed for thousands of years to honor the first kings of Vietnam—the founders who laid the roots of our nation. It is a time for all Vietnamese people to remember our origins and come together as one “đồng bào.”

Our culture shines with life and color—seen in the flowing áo dài (long traditional dress), the bright flags carried with pride, and the powerful, graceful movements of our traditional martial arts. Each color, each step, tells a story of resilience and unity.

Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts carries within it thousands of years of history, victory, and resilience. It is living history—preserving the spirit of our people through generations. We are proud to embody this legacy and pass its strength and beauty on to the future, empowering our youths with their identity.

Thank you officer Manny from C-11 District Boston Police and Mrs Lieu Nguyen (Vietnamese Community Liasion for C-11) for speaking to our youths on critical issues of anti bullying and online risks.

It is our mission to equip our youth with awareness, strength, and the courage to navigate today’s world safely.

At VTMA, we believe true self-defense goes far beyond physical techniques. It is the power of knowledge, the ability to recognize danger, the discipline to make the right choices, and the courage to walk away and seek help before conflict ever becomes physical.

Today’s lesson was not about fighting—it was about protecting, empowering, and leading.

Together, we are shaping not just martial artists, but confident, aware, and resilient young leaders ready to stand strong in any situation.
