Cayman Music Therapy, founded in 2010 by Julianne Parolisi MA, MT-BC (Board Certified Music Therapist), is the first and only music therapy practice in the Cayman Islands. As demand for music therapy and creative arts services in Cayman has increased, the team has grown to include a second board certified music therapist and a dance/movement specialist. Cayman Music Therapy is dedicated to providi

ng exceptional services to a wide array of individuals, groups, and organizations. Some of the programmes and services we provide include:

~ Individual & Group Music Therapy Services: For children, adolescents, and adults with special needs, behavioral or emotional challenges, medical needs such as pain management or rehabilitative needs, and anxiety/stress management.

~ Wee Make Music: A fun & engaging music group for “wee ones” (children ages 0-4) and their mums/dads/caregivers to play, connect, and grow through music.

~ Express Yourself!: An after school program for older children to engage in a variety of music and other creative arts activities designed to encourage self awareness and expression, connect with peers, build self-confidence and self-esteem, boost emotional well-being, and foster creativity.

~ Music for Wellness: A number of individual and group services are available, including corporate retreats, facilitated drum jams, guided relaxation, community song circle, and more.

~ HealthRhythms: An evidence-based, innovative, engaging group wellness program that uses drumming to help reduce stress & feelings of burnout, increase group cohesion & functionality, and boost productivity and well-being.

~ Hospice Music Therapy: Special services to improve quality of life in end-of-life care, in partnership with Cayman HospiceCare.

~ Adaptive Music Lessons: For people of all ages who love music and want to learn an instrument, but who might have difficulty learning in the traditional manner due to varying needs, abilities, or age. These lessons are uniquely tailored to meet the learning style and needs of each individual.

~ Music & Creative Arts Summer Camp: Different offerings each year. Get in touch with us to learn more!

~ Music Therapy for Incarcerated Youth: A programme offered in partnership with Youth ACT and HM Northward Prison to provide rehabilitation for Cayman's youth offenders.

... and more programmes soon to come! Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to promote, maintain and restore mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. In music therapy, a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program addresses individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship. Music Therapy is a well-established allied health profession similar to occupational therapy and speech/language therapy. Music therapy can address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals from birth through end-of-life care, and also provides avenues for communication that can be helpful to those who find it difficult to express themselves in words. Because music is a powerful and non-threatening medium, unique outcomes are often possible. Music therapy improves the quality of life for persons who are well and meets the needs of children and adults with disabilities or illnesses.

Our 2nd annual Sound Waves Inclusive Rock Band Camp ROCKED! 🤘🎶🎙️🎸🎹🥁🎤💥 Campers got a chance to try out drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, and singing, and then they formed bands to practice jamming together and learn songs to perform at our final rock concert.

We are so grateful to Musicians Ltd for hosting the camp and Rotary Central Cayman Islands for sponsorship, as well as Music Therapy Without Borders for providing volunteers and local musicians Maxim Kazakov and Danny.Loops Music for sharing your wicked musical talents with the campers! 🌟🙌

Celebrating the success of our 4th annual Camp NO Limits in partnership with the Special Needs Foundation of Cayman and hosted by Hope Academy! 🎉 "Don't Worry, Be Happy!" was our theme, and our campers sure were happy singing, dancing, playing, drawing, sporting, parachuting, and enjoying so many other activities throughout the week.

Sending a *HUGE* thank you to Chatterbox - Connecting Therapy, Education and Fun, KidsAbility in Cayman, Hope Academy, Cayman Theraplay, and Music Therapy Without Borders for providing staff and volunteers (and a venue!) for camp-- teamwork makes the dreamwork!! 😁
