NASA's next Great Observatory--the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope--is now on its way to space! Though similar in size to Hubble, its 300 megapixel wide-field camera will see an area of the sky 100 times larger, meaning each image will capture the equivalent details of 100 Hubble images!

Its first spectacular images will be released early in 2027, and you can be part of history by adopting one of those pixels. To do so, just visit https://science.nasa.gov/mission/roman-space-telescope/adopt-a-pixel/

Of all the world's amazing sights, there's none better than that of home!

I just returned from a long lecture- and total solar eclipse trip to Denmark, Faroe Islands, Scotland, Norway and Iceland. Thank you all for following along my journey.

Miles logged are as follows:
By plane: 10,998 miles
By ship: 2,257 miles
By car: 270.5
By foot: 51.2 miles

The Captain found some thinner clouds for us to see both diamond rings and all of totality, along with Venus (out of frame on the left) and Jupiter (right center). All things considered, a remarkably successful day!
