🌟🌟App State Fayetteville Chapter Alumni Highlight🌟🌟

After graduating from App State in 2008 with a degree in Communication Disorders and a minor in Special Education, Emma Benthan went on to earn her Doctorate of Audiology from Auburn University. Today, she serves as the Director of Audiology at Fayetteville Otolaryngology.

Here is a quick look at Emma's App State journey and where she is now:

Campus Involvement: Freshman Seminar Student Leader, Appalachian Ambassador, and Women's Treble Choir.

Favorite App State Memory: Welcoming home the football team in the stadium parking lot after the historic victory over Michigan in 2007—plus cheering on three National Championship wins!

Advice for Future Alumni: "Always carry an umbrella and treat classes like a 9-to-5 job... then you'll avoid having to study late at night or on weekends!"

Life Outside of Work: Emma attended Terry Sanford High School right here in Fayetteville. When she isn't working, she enjoys singing, traveling, serving at Snyder Baptist Church, and spending quality time with her husband Landon, their two kids (ages 9 and 6), and their Cavapoo, Louie.

Today, the Fayetteville Alumni Chapter pauses to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Living and working here in Fayetteville—alongside our neighbors, service members, and military families at Fort Bragg—the weight of this day carries profound meaning for our community. We honor the incredible courage of the first responders who rushed toward danger, as well as the brave men and women of our armed forces who answered the call to serve in the years that followed.
