Armed Forces Day was Saturday, and we are celebrating by recognizing the Class of 2026 Knights who earned ROTC scholarships!
Isaiah Friend has been awarded the Army ROTC 4-Year National Scholarship. This is an elite federal merit award granted by the U.S. Army Cadet Command. It is the highest honor available to incoming college freshmen, awarded to a select group of students nationwide who demonstrate the Scholar-Athlete-Leader model. This scholarship is widely recognized as being on par with an appointment to a U.S. Service Academy (such as West Point) in terms of prestige and selectivity.
Isaiah was evaluated by a National Selection Board on a competitive 1,400-point scale. Qualification requires:
Academic Excellence: Typically characterized by a top-tier GPA and SAT/ACT scores (e.g., 4.0+ and 1400+).
Athletic Prowess: Proven through varsity-level sports and passing the Army Physical Fitness Assessment.
Proven Leadership: Extensive records of service, such as Varsity Team Captains, Student Government leaders, or Eagle Scouts.
Officer Interview: A formal evaluation by a Senior Army Officer to assess character and leadership potential.
Isaiah's scholarship represents a federal investment of up to $200,000+ and provides:
Isaiah is attending UCLA, and this scholarship will pay 100% of his tuition and fees. Additionally he will receive allowances for books, and a stipend for living expenses.
Upon graduation, Isaiah will enter the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant, a professional leadership role. He will serve 4 years of full-time service as a Second Lieutenant, and 4 years in the Individual Ready Reserve.

Congratulation to the Knights who made SIC All Conference Teams for Softball this spring. Gracie Cammann, Kingsley Shea, Josie Cunningham, Olivia Watt, and Jaynie Burke made the First Team. Khloe Wright made the Second Team. And Terese Stroschein and Natalie Lange were honorable mention!

Congratulations to the Knights to made the SIC All Conference Baseball Teams this spring. Cam Skinner, Chase Casagrande, Colin Brazil, and Ayden Boyd were selected for First Team. Jaxson Brady, Sy Wong, Cole Keck, and Cooper Chapman were selected for Second Team. Honorable mention goes to Connor Glasgow.
