Players from the Bishop Kelly and Aquinas High School Football teams packed the St. Teresa of Jesus Chapel at BK this morning, celebrating Mass together as brothers in Christ before they meet as opponents on Nick Ysursa field tonight.

BK is blessed to have another Catholic High School in the Treasure Valley for this matchup. Thank you Aquinas Falcons for making the trip to Idaho to help us kick off our season and celebrate Catholic education!

Bishop Kelly is thrilled to announce that we have earned the title of 5A School of Excellence from the Idaho High School Activities Association! This award is the culmination of a year long, voluntary program where schools earn points based on their student athletes' performance in athletics, academics, and sportsmanship. It is the top award for the IHSAA and its member schools.

Three major areas of high school activities are weighted equally in determining which school wins this award for their classification. The Academic Component is based on the varsity team's cumulative GPA as submitted on the State Academic
Champions application for all IHSAA sponsored sports/activity programs. The Performance Component is based on place of finish at IHSAA-sponsored state championships and activity program competitions. The Citizenship Component is based on a school's self-evaluation of their citizenship/sportsmanship activities as
submitted on an itemized form. Deductions are made by the IHSAA for player and/or coach unsportsmanlike ejections and also for unsportsmanlike school behavior at state tournaments.

Bishop Kelly is extremely proud to have won the School of Excellence Award for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Congratulations to each and every player, coach, and fan who made it happen. And shoutout to the teachers at BK who help our athletes succeed in the classroom, and the parents who made these kids the outstanding young men and women they are.
