Something I've realized is that midlife is all about listening to yourself!
When I couldn't shake the feeling of number 7 above, it drove me to make a change and truly listen to what I wanted.

If only I could go back in time...
I would've told my younger self all about these before I got to midlife:
๐ Stop taking your life so seriously. Have more fun!
๐ Other people's opinions of you are none of your business
๐ It's not too late to become the person you were always meant to be
๐ There will come a time when you will wish you still had "that" body. Stop focusing on all of the flaws, and start celebrating how strong you are
๐ Your people will love you no matter what. Be good to them!
๐ Always order the dessert!

And I'm not shaming you here!

What was your knee-jerk reaction? ๐
If you had told me a year ago that I'd decided to let my grays grow, I would've laughed in your face!!
I've been highlighting my hair for decades but after a recent haircut appointment (AKA my highlighting appointment to cover up my grays), I decided I'm going to try something different...
It won't be immediately noticeable because I've never done an all-over color. In fact, after this appointment, my hair just looks darker -- and less brassy yellow -- because of the lowlights we put in. It's called "gray blending."
I'll be using a purple shampoo at home to keep the brassiness at bay. But other than that, there's not much upkeep, and I'll be able to go several more weeks between "haircut" appointments.
