Be aware of how construction on Orchard may impact your drop off or pick up routes for your kiddos to Hillcrest! Closures began Monday and will continue for a couple months.

Beginning Monday, August 28th, construction will start on a City of Boise sewer line project on South Orchard Street. This work will be done in phases, which can be seen on the graphic below. Travel will be restricted on S Orchard Street from Overland to Camas Street will start Monday. Full closures will follow in phases. The first full closure will begin September 5th on Orchard from West Kootenai Street to West Camas Street and a full closure of West Edson Street to South Pond Street. Residents should leave extra time for their commute and use Overland or Franklin to the south or north or Curtis or Latah to the east and west as a detour. Detours may shift as work progresses - please follow detour signs.

We are so happy to have Kid City located at Hillcrest!

We cut the ribbon and dedicated Hillcrest Community Center today! 🎀 ✂️ This is our 10th after school program location and is the result of an awesome partnership with the Boise School District. The facility at Hillcrest Elementary School is beautiful and we are grateful to be able to provide free after school care for students. Thank you to our incredible teachers and staff!

Our students were honored to welcome actors from the Idaho Theatre for Youth for their performance of Air Hart. This fun, engaging play about Amelia Earhart was brought to us by generous sponsors including the Idaho Community Foundation and the James A. Pinney Fund.

Our annual End of Year Celebration is coming quickly! Next Friday we will have 2 food trucks available for the event from 5-8pm at our school. One of them is the good ol Rusty Dog! Can't go wrong with a good corn dog and some fries! Don't forget about the silent auction! We have some great things in store for you!

We are often asked what the Hillcrest PTO does. Through events, we raise money for Hillcrest. Just this year we used those funds to give directly to each grade through monthly popcorn sales, to our classrooms through our new teacher wish list program, and to our students through the purchase of a Gaga Ball mat. The success of our fundraisers is a direct reflection of our generous families and dedicated volunteers. Want to volunteer your time and talents? Join us!

The Walkathon is this Friday!! Remember to send Walkathon pledges from friends and family to school with your students! We are raising money for a gaga ball mat for the playground. Cash, checks (payable to Hillcrest Elementary PTO), and paypal () are all accepted!
