Mrs. Duvall’s 6th-grade reading students used their inferencing skills today as they worked in groups during a gallery walk. They analyzed their classmates’ self-drawn pictures to determine what emotions they were experiencing on the first day of school. The room was filled with lots of great discussion! It’s going to be a wonderful year in 6th grade at RJH!

From Mrs. Thomas’ Math Class:
This week we put our teamwork and communication skills to the test with a cup-stacking challenge! Instead of using our hands, each person had to work together to control a rubber band using strings, grab the cups, and build a pyramid.

It took communication, patience, cooperation, and a whole lot of teamwork to get those cups stacked! The best part was watching everyone figure out how to work together toward the same goal.

A little friendly competition + a lot of laughs = a great day of teamwork!
