Just saw West Side Story at Duluth High School and it was SO good. 🔥🎭

The choreography was tight and full of energy, the set and lighting design were incredibly thoughtful, and the transitions kept the whole show moving without missing a beat. You could tell this production was well planned, well rehearsed, and built with intention. For a high school show, it truly felt next level.

As an Assistant Principal in this cluster, it means a lot to support programs like this because our students will one day get the opportunity to be part of something this special. The arts matter. The work matters. The kids shine because of it.

So proud of the cast, crew, and directors for putting on such an impressive show. 👏✨

Happy New Year!

As we step into this new year together, we do so with grateful hearts and hopeful minds. Thank you to the incredible Chattahoochee Elementary School staff for the care, dedication, and love you pour into our work, building, and students each and every day.

Your work matters more than you know, and it continues to shape a school where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. I am excited for all that lies ahead: new goals, new growth, and new opportunities to learn and shine together.

May this year bring renewed energy, joy in the small moments, continued collaboration, and countless reasons to celebrate. I can’t wait to see what we will accomplish together in the months ahead.

Here’s to a bright, joyful, and successful New Year!

I also forgot to add this little bit from last week. On Friday, I sent out a short message wishing everyone a joyful, restful, and safe winter break. It felt like the perfect way to wrap up such a fun and meaningful week together.

So much happened during the last week of school! From finishing formative observations to guest judging the hallway competition, hosting the s’mores station and hot cocoa bar, and celebrating with class parties—it was truly a busy, busy time filled with joy and connection.

A huge thank you to our mystery judges—Jeff Lee, Lysanne Matthews, LaTasha Hampton, and Helen Morris—for jumping in to support the competition and, more importantly, for helping spread so much joy as we headed into break. Your time and energy made the week even more special.

Officially on Thanksgiving Break! 🦃🍂
This time off has been a long time coming, and I’m so ready for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Looking forward to good food, family, and all the togetherness this week brings.

I’m truly grateful for my incredible team and colleagues. Your hard work, dedication, and support mean the world. As an admin, I may not have made it out right at the 3:15 bell… but I definitely almost got run over by a few teachers racing to start their break (you know who you are 😂).

Wishing everyone a restful, joy-filled Thanksgiving week! 🙌🍁💛

What an inspiring few days of collaboration and growth for our ASD and Pre-K Special Education teams! 💜

Teachers came together to plan, problem solve, and share strategies that strengthen instruction and support every learner’s success. The day was filled with teamwork and purposeful reflection as teachers reviewed student caseloads, checked benchmarks in the Unique Learning System, ensured compliance, and refined classroom supports to meet diverse student needs.

From exploring new ideas for communication and sensory supports to aligning lessons and updating data, every part of the day focused on helping students thrive. Teachers left with fresh strategies, stronger connections, and renewed energy to bring into their classrooms.

When educators collaborate, everyone grows together.

Have you heard about this whole 6-7 thing the kids are doing these days? 🤔 Not totally sure what it’s all about, but hey — if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em!

We celebrated the 67th day of school today with lots of fun and smiles! 💜

From Oct. 29 to today, our school was full of energy, laughter, and color for our Boosterthon Color Run! 🌈

We met our goal and raised over $23,000! 🙌💙
Three Color Runs, two grade levels each, tons of smiles, and yes… plenty of slime! 😆 Teachers stepped up to get slimed, and the day ended with our Principal and me taking the final slime splash! 💚

As a leader who loves seeing kids shine, every moment was worth it. Those joyful faces said it all. 💛

Thank you to everyone who ran, donated, and cheered. You make Chattahoochee the special place it is! 🐾💙💛

🎃 I truly landed in the right spot and the right fit!

💜 The teachers and speech-language pathologists worked together to create an in-house Trick-or-Treat experience for our kiddos. They went around from classrooms to offices, practicing knocking, saying “trick or treat,” and “thank you.”

There were visual supports at each stop to help prompt them to say or touch “trick or treat”, such a thoughtful and intentional touch! 💜

My heart is so full seeing this kind of collaboration and care come together for our students. What a great reminder of why we do what we do! ✨

🎃 Punch (or Poke!) the Pumpkin Fun! 🎃

Today we went to spread a little fall joy with our Punch the Pumpkin treat game! 🍬🍫 Our amazing staff got to take a swing (well… a poke 😆) at the pumpkin wall to reveal some fun surprises — candy, cozy socks, gift cards, coozies, and special certificates!

We quickly learned that “punching” made all the treats pop out at once, so we switched to “Poke the Pumpkin” and it was just as fun! 😂

Nothing like a little laughter, treats, and appreciation to brighten up the day! 💛🍁
