Our first official day of The Bloom School!! 🌳🌸🌳 We had a great first day! It looks a little different than our plans thanks to weather and Mother Nature and other delays outside of our control but we are so thankful to St. Helena's for temporary space until we can move into our space. Our teachers and admin are incredible and rolling with the flow.

It won't be long before we are in our space!

🌼Welcome Marcy Boynton!🌼

We are excited to announce Marcy will be joining The Bloom School as our Head of School! Marcy has spent more than 30 years working with children, families, and educators in various educational and childcare settings. She is passionate about creating warm, welcoming environments where children can grow to their full potential. Marcy also cares deeply about nurturing children with special needs and helping families feel seen, understood, and connected to a caring community.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management from Texas Tech University, and has used her background in leadership and operations throughout her career managing schools and supporting families.

Early in her career, Marcy served as Director of Buttons n Bows Christian Learning Center, where she managed day-to-day operations, coordinated staff, and helped guide programming and planning for the family-owned center.

She later owned and directed Mini Texans Christian Learning Center for more than 15 years, overseeing two licensed childcare centers serving approximately 400 children. During that time, she focused on building programs that supported children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development while creating a positive, team-oriented environment for staff and families alike.

Most recently, Marcy worked as a Substitute Teacher at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School, supporting students in kindergarten through sixth grade across various classroom settings. She is known for her ability to create a structured yet welcoming environment where students feel comfortable and supported.

Marcy brings warmth, experience, and a genuine love for working with children and families to everything she does.

🪴Meet Andrew Martinez, PhD!🪴

Andrew Martinez, PhD is a pediatric neuropsychologist with specific expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Dr. Martinez completed his doctoral training at Texas A&M University – College Station within the School Psychology program with an emphasis in neuropsychology. He completed his internship with Fort Worth ISD and a two-year neuropsychology fellowship at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. Following training, Dr. Martinez moved to San Antonio and accepted a faculty position at a local medical hospital, where he established a neuropsychological clinic and co-founded an Autism program. He is the current Clinical Director of the Autism program. Dr. Martinez holds an Associate Professor ranking and practices as a neuropsychologist at a local children’s hospital. Dr. Martinez’s career experiences have provided him with unique insights into medical and educational settings. Dr. Martinez enjoys helping families better understand their children while providing practical/real-world strategies to best assist their children.

Personally, Dr. Martinez grew up in South Texas. He completed his training across Texas, and he returned with his wife to South Texas to start their family and career. His wife is an elementary school teacher with more than 15 years of experience teaching in public schools. Together, they have 5 boys, including one with significant special needs. In his free time, Dr. Martinez enjoys hanging out with his family, BBQing, working out, or watching/attending sporting events. His favorite teams are the Texas A&M Aggies (WH07P) and whichever team his sons play on.

🌳BUILDING UPDATE!🌳

We are nearing completion on our five buildings for The Bloom School! Our campus will feature three classrooms, a sensory gym, and an administration office. Additionally, we will have a loafing shed for our donkeys, and an accessible outdoor play area with adaptive equipment. We are so excited to have students on campus Fall 2026!

With over 20 years of dedicated experience in public education, Margaret White Villa has made a significant impact on the lives of students in grades K-12 as a school psychologist and certified life coach. Her passion lies in working with diverse learners, empowering them to thrive, reach their full potential, and develop the self-esteem and self-confidence essential for success.

Margaret recognizes the unique learning styles of each child and advocates for an inclusive learning environment tailored to their individual needs. Her commitment to fostering positive growth in students has made her a trusted figure among educators and families alike.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Margaret is a proud mother and grandmother, cherishing the moments spent with her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys nurturing her garden, finding joy and tranquility in the beauty of nature.

Margaret's mission is to create a supportive and enriching atmosphere where every child can flourish, embracing their unique learning journey.

🌷Meet Anne Tarwater!🌷

Anne is the Executive Director of The Bloom School and a licensed speech-language pathologist with a deep commitment to helping children reach their full potential. As the founder of iShine Pediatric Therapy Clinic, she has built her career around creating meaningful, accessible support systems for children with diverse developmental needs.

Anne earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Southwestern University in Georgetown and her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Texas Woman’s University. She brings extensive clinical and educational experience to her role, having served for seven years in Boerne ISD. There, she provided comprehensive evaluations and therapy services for students in the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD), Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), and across grades kindergarten through 12th. Throughout her career, Anne has worked with children across a wide range of abilities and diagnoses.

She is especially passionate about empowering children to find their voice and develop confidence through communication. She believes that strong communication skills are foundational to lifelong success.

As Executive Director of The Bloom School, Anne brings her vision of integrated education and therapy to life, creating a nurturing environment where all children—both typically developing and those with disabilities—can learn, grow, and thrive together.

Outside of her professional work, Anne is a devoted mother of two and enjoys life with her “small zoo” at home, which includes three dogs.
