Did you know schools CAN identify, evaluate, and support students with dyslexia using updated research and modern assessment tools?

For years, many families were told schools “cannot diagnose dyslexia,” but current guidance, educational laws, and updated assessment tools are changing that conversation. The new Tests of Dyslexia (TOD) by WPS – Western Psychological Services were specifically designed to help trained school professionals better identify and understand dyslexia within educational settings.

We are excited to share that SALT Academy is now offering the Tests of Dyslexia (TOD) for families interested in learning more about their child’s reading profile and support needs.

Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that impacts reading, spelling, and language processing, and early identification matters. Research continues to show that evidence-based intervention and structured literacy approaches can make a life-changing difference for students.

Our students built their own Foodtruck business this semester.  Every grade from K to 12 joined in groups to learn how to develop a business that could benefit our dyslexia foundation. With teams such as marketing, financial planning and compliance, product and menu development, and business operations, these kids did an amazing job at our Grand Opening 🎉 Congratulations ❤️

It takes four times longer to intervene in 4th grade than in 1st grade. The longer we wait to identify a child that struggles to read, the more intervention, time, money and remediation is needed, not to mention the impact that waiting may have on self esteem and mental health. Early identification of reading difficulties and evidence based structured literacy intervention and training is essential. Don’t leave reading to chance! Don’t wait. Close the gap.
