Financial cap: $8,000 US
The student will need to operate independently, with twice monthly progress reports or virtual meetings.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Evaluate the suitability of various global-scale species distribution and home range rasters for inclusion in a marine animal detection data quality control pipeline. Suitability considerations include but are not limited to: data format/compatibility, availability, spatial resolution, age, and accuracy.
Determine and catalogue a backing in literature for the global-scale species distribution/home range datasets for the purposes of proper citation and explanation of the quality control procedure.
Qualifications:
A background in computer science or informatics is not necessary to fulfill these duties, but familiarity with geospatial analysis, R, and GIS data formats is a definite asset.
