Meet Valentina - a senior International Business major from La Rioja, Argentina, who applied to be an RA because "I wanted to be able to connect with residents and help them transition into the university."
Serving as the Senior Resident Assistant in E.M. Lynn, Valentina thinks you should apply to be an RA because "applying to be an RA can teach you how to be organized, connect with people and how to manage situations which are all skills one needs for the outside world to work. "

Say hello to Senior Resident Assistant Lisbeth!
Lisabeth joined the Housing and Residence Life team because she "could be an advocate and guide for incoming students and support returning students, and it was an opportunity to grow in many lifelong skills like leadership." She credits being an RA with helping her improve her time management, problem-solving, and accountability skills.
When asked about the best part of the position, Lisbeth shared, "the best part of being an RA is the opportunity to build and be part of a community and the lifelong friendships you get to form."
Lisbeth is a graduate student studying Exceptional Student Education and joins our team from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Meet Genesis! She is a first-year Resident Assistant in EML Residence Hall and a senior Biology major from Manhattan, New York.
When asked what the best part about becoming a Resident Assistant is, Genesis shared, "you get the power to reach out to so many people and help them - mentally and academically. I love that I can make my residents feel comfortable talking to me, and they know they can always reach out in a time of need or if they want to hang out."
Hear more about why our current staff applied at our upcoming information sessions - and like Genesis says, "be someone's light on a rainy day."
