Happy birthday Connie!

Happy birthday to our founder, Connie T. Siskowski! ❤️

Today we’re celebrating the woman who has spent decades making Caregiving Youth visible and building support for children and teens who care for someone in their family.

You’ve changed so many lives for the better, and there’s so much more ahead.

Celebrating you today, Dr. Connie. Happy birthday! ❤️

Welcome back to It all started with one club 🌳 In 1921, over 80 women formed the first Soroptimist club in Oakland, CA — and their first project was saving the California redwoods (they won!). Our name comes from Latin: soror (sister) + optima (best) = "the best for women." Over 100 years later, we're 5 federations and ~66,000 members strong, still driven by the same mission.
