TRUE STORY. 😂

I was on Zoom prepping a college student for an upcoming interview when my phone buzzed.

His mother.

“Can you PLEASE tell him to get a haircut before the interview? He won’t listen to me.”

So I casually worked it into our conversation.

His response?

“That’s actually a really good idea!”

Same advice. Different messenger. Zero arguments. 😂

Sometimes the most valuable thing I bring to a coaching session is that I’m a mother. Just not THEIR mother.

Career coach by profession. Unlicensed family therapist by necessity. 😂

Stop asking your college student:

“What do you want to do after graduation?”

Try asking them this instead:

“Do you know how to figure that out?”

Because a lot of students don’t.

They went to college.
Picked a major.
Worked hard.
Earned the degree.

And then suddenly, everyone expects them to have a five-year plan.

But what if they’re not confused because they’re lazy?

What if they were never taught how to explore career options, ask the right questions, or figure out what actually matters to them?
