FAU Office of Technology Development

Who We Are

The Office of Technology Development (OTD) manages intellectual property created by faculty and students at FAU. It provides impartial consultation on various legal protection and commercialization strategies, and collaborates with outside attorneys and consultants to offer additional resources. We also work closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs to structure the intellectual property and commercial provisions of sponsored research agreements.

One of OTD’s primary goals is to foster the development of Florida businesses based on FAU research. FlexReceipts, a leading provider of smart email receipts for retailers and Videopura, a video services company with patent-pending technologies to reduce the bandwidth necessary for video services, are two examples of companies that OTD has partnered with in the past.

The Office of Technology Development looks forward to working with companies and entrepreneurs interested in leveraging FAU assets.
