Dirty Moe's Oyster Boat was a chain of raw bars which began in Boca Raton, Florida. They were owned and operated by the Danciu family. It's a different time.
Prior to becoming mayor, Emil Danciu along with his wife and children, opened the first Dirty Moe's on 40th Street in Boca Raton. Our restaurants were known for being an affordable, and especially fun place to eat and drink. We served mostly the working-class families in the area along with the students of adjacent Florida Atlantic University. Customers quickly began to associate the name 'Dirty M
oe' with our restaurant's proprietor, Emil Danciu. In the ever increasing hoity-toity Boca Raton, the unpretentious Emil "Dirty Moe" Danciu and the raw bars, served as breath of fresh air and a welcomed contrast to the area. This led the the successful election of a mayor who also happened to operate the most successful bar in town. Today we are asked continuously by the community, when Dirty Moe's is going to make a come back. Nothing would please us more to make it happen. However we acknowledge we can not just clone what was done in the past. It would need to be very delicate balance of a modern-day Dirty Moe's blended with the Dirty Moe's of the past. We are working on it. However there are key pieces which need to be in place and it must feel right for all involved. When this happens... it will happen. If it's meant to be... it will be. Thank you for your continued support. Stay Tuned!
