This month, we’d like to spotlight one of our amazing Related Arts classes… Art! 🎨🖌️

Each student has the opportunity to visit the art room each week. Art class gives our students a chance to express themselves, explore their creativity, build confidence, and bring their unique ideas to life. We are so thankful for Ms. Spires and the creative and welcoming space she creates for our students to learn and grow through art!

We love seeing our students’ personalities shine through their creations! 🩵

Building community has been a big focus around the building throughout August! As students settle into a new school year, they’ve been getting to know one another, collaborating, building friendships, and expanding their circles to make room for new people.

We love watching our students learn that school is not only a place to grow academically, but also a place to connect, include others, and build a strong sense of belonging. This year is off to an amazing start!

On Friday evening, family and friends gathered to celebrate the Change of Command at Round Top. We welcomed our new lead pilot Mrs. Whisenant and look forward to all that is ahead. We also celebrated the legacy of Mrs. Bennett who has guided us to where we are today. Once an Aviator, always an Aviator!

Richland School District Two behavior support professional Mandey Collins has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Palmetto State Teachers Association Classroom Grant. This is the fifth year of the PSTA Classroom Grants created as part of the Reinvesting in Our Members Program.

Ms. Collins is a behavior support professional at Round Top Elementary School. This grant will purchase sensory and calming materials. These materials will serve students for multiple years and will assist with creating comfortable environments for students to reset and be able to return to the least restrictive environment. According to Ms. Collins, “My behavioral support room’s entire focus is on student behavior and academic success.” PSTA Director of Teacher Leadership Craig King surprised Ms. Collins at her school with the exciting news that her grant was chosen as a winner!
