So grateful to still be able to do the thing I love in my 39th week of pregnancy. Can’t believe we’re six days out from due date. This pregnancy has flown by. What’s your guess on baby’s birthday? I’m thinking due date or beyond at this point 🤔

This was really fun to look back on. At least for me. If you watched til the end 🫶🫶.

It’s crazy to see the growth from 28 weeks to 34. Baby grows so much the last bit of pregnancy and your body changes drastically. I feel so blessed to have run through another pregnancy. I’ll post a part 2 in the coming days but I was running out of time on the reel! I know one day I’ll look back and think how did I do that. I wish I had done this with Sarah Tatum so I could show her now but one day she’ll see the pics from when she was running with me. 💗

9 days til due date and we can’t wait to find out if Sarah Tatum is getting a little brother or sister!

Why I started coaching!

I’ve been a psychiatric pharmacist for 10 years now. Mental health expands far beyond medications in terms of treatment. One aspect that I felt was always missing in my daily interactions with patients was the chance to get them moving beyond just telling them to. Covid hit in 2020 and I had the downtime and chance to start a business. To take my passion since I was in high school to others. For them to know the feeling of going for an amazing run, seeing the sunrise, crossing the finish line after a hard race, and accomplishing X distance. Run coaching has been one of the best decisions I ever made and I’m so glad I took the chance on it when I did. If you’re looking to improve your running, let’s talk!

Can’t believe we’re sitting at 5ish weeks give or take til our second baby. It seems like I just found out I was pregnant.

Spent the long weekend with lots of family escaping the beach tourists and hot weather although the mountains weren’t as much of a reprieve as they usually are.

I did get to run in upper 60s the past two days though and I won’t see that at home for a long time. Thankful to close out another week of running with this babe. Averaging a bit more mileage than I did with Sarah Tatum at this point but still feeling really good (as good as I think you can feel feeling pregnant at this stage)! Now time to get settled in our temporary home for the next half a year and get ready for a baby 😅

Training for a marathon is no easy feat. I did my first one after having my daughter at 7 months postpartum and the second at 16 months. Here’s how I was able to accomplish that!

HELP. There’s literally no way you can do it all as a mom without asking for help. We had an amazing nanny for about 1.5 years that helped immensely with taking care of ST full time before she started preschool and also kept things in order at home. I also relied on family when we were on vacation or my parents were in town. I would even hire babysitters if needed. I know it’s a luxury to pay for childcare and not an option for everyone but a lot of my help was free with family if I planned things accordingly.

James. This was another one of my biggest helpers. Our weekends and really weekdays to this day are usually tag teaming so we can both do activities we enjoy. Usually I run first and then he will golf or run. There’s absolutely no way I could’ve done it without having a partner that supported my hobby. Communication is key in letting your spouse know how many miles you have to run, how long it will take, etc.

Planning ahead! I have a run coach I work with so I know my schedule in advance which helps me move things around if needed according to my work schedule and mom life. I would take advantage of days I had off from work and try to move longer runs to those days. In training for my second postpartum marathon I moved my long runs to my scheduled day off of work every week that way I had more time to spend with the family on the weekend.

Prioritized me time. Did I have mom guilt at times? Yes absolutely especially when you need to get out the door and things are kind of in chaos mode. But I knew I would be a better mom when I came back after getting in some time alone doing what I enjoy most.

Woke up early. When I was still breastfeeding I would have to get up super early to pump and/or feed ST before running and work. It wasn’t easy but it’s what worked best for me. I don’t like running later in the day and I was needed more at home later.

Remembered my why! Why I choose to run/run marathons which is because it’s a challenge and a commitment to better myself. I also

A body in motion stays in motion because what do you mean I just ran 8 miles at 32w2d pregnant. The past week my runs have felt pretty meh but today the humidity and temp dropped and I felt so good.

I didn’t run 8 miles or longer past 26 weeks with Sarah Tatum so I can’t believe I’m still able to do this. I felt like I got some mean looks this morning but it could all just be insecurities in my head. I felt a lot better when I passed two girls running and one said look at this queen going by us!

If anything I hope when I pass people they realize women can still show up and move their bodies in pregnancy and I hope more women continue to prove this!
