🎓 Congratulations to the 2026 Educator in the Workplace Graduates!

After a summer filled with learning, collaboration, workplace tours, and hands-on experiences, we’re proud to celebrate a successful Educator in the Workplace (EIW) cohort!

Throughout the program, local educators stepped outside the classroom and into workplaces across our region to connect directly with employers, explore local career opportunities, and better understand the skills today’s workforce needs. Now, they’ll take those experiences back to their students, helping connect classroom learning with real-world careers right here in our community.

A huge thank you to our educators, employer partners, speakers, and everyone who helped make this year’s program possible. Your commitment to strengthening the connection between education and industry is helping prepare the next generation of our local workforce.

Last Friday, we brought education and industry together for meaningful conversations at our K–12 Educators Summit. Built around collaboration, the summit created opportunities for educators and employers to exchange ideas, share best practices, and strengthen the connection between classroom learning and workforce needs.

Established in 1992, Leadership Central Penn (LCP) is the flagship program of the Foundation of the Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce, offering a nine-month leadership development experience that equips participants with the tools, connections, and insights needed to drive positive change in their workplaces and communities.

The Leadership Central Penn program runs from September through May, beginning with a full-day Opening Retreat to establish leadership goals and foster connections among participants. Monthly sessions are held on topics such as Economic Development, Education & Workforce Development, Healthcare and Civic Engagement. Participants also work in teams throughout the program to develop Community Non Profit Projects, addressing real-world regional challenges. The program concludes with a formal Graduation Ceremony in May, where projects are presented, and participants are recognized for their accomplishments.
